Very beautiful and spectacular family hike (climbing skills required) that runs over the small and large Bärenstein with their unexpected wild rock formations and the Riegelhofstiege, a rather steep and narrow gorge with its numerous boulders that you have to scramble down.
The big Bärenstein, with its 327 meters is 11 meters lower than its little brother. It owes its name to its greater mass and extension.
The Big Bear Stone has four viewpoints to offer, but they are well distributed and quite hidden. There are no marked paths on the Großer Bärenstein, so something has to be searched for.
The Riegelhofstiege definitely requires surefootedness and climbing skills, as there are no stepping stones or anything else.
