@egyptianminor Makamat can be realised with either vocal or instrumental music, the composition above is a masterpiece of the revivalist klezmer ( modern). Indeed the ottoman influence in Romania and Moldova was very strong for the early and mid ninteen century klezmer instrumentalists ( Hajaz Makam has in practice more limitations than the versatile eastern european klezma notes, which can perform more chromatic keys, half-sharps, half-flats due the use of varied instruments) The above is created for dances like khosidl, but also i might be wrong about this one.

Do you know any other music with the same scale? Both jewish or arabic
@egyptianminor2 ай бұрын
@@KarmaDiamond This scale also exists -under different names, of course - in other Middle Eastern/West Asian cultures, I think in both Turkish/Iranian folk music and also I think in North Indian music as well. Meaning it's probably a very ancient musical scale common to the ancient Near East era cultures, that became wide spread to the surrounding regions.
@KarmaDiamond2 ай бұрын
@@egyptianminor For what I know you can find it also in Flamenco music probably because of his Middle East and Indian origin

What is the context of this dance pls? Is it a ritual ceremony? Or a show? Why are there a few men in the center with different costumes? I am a beginner clarinetist learning Klezmer music, I just randomly found this video, and as I am also a traditionnal dancer in my region of Western Europe, I like to understand other's people cultures, music and dances ;)

Great performance and vibe! But where are the women? I just don't understand that. Why not celebrate together in this age and time?
@ultimatedark5969 Жыл бұрын
Woman are celebrating alone , in judaism every interaction between a woman and a man can cause attraction and sexul behavior, that's why this is forbidden to do such things , the man and woman will be together at the marriage day and the rest of their life
@ohmyandblue4786 Жыл бұрын
