These La Scala speakers/cabinets are known for having a serious shortage of low frequencies, even though they have a 15" woofer in a folded horn cabinet. Wouldn't opening up the "outlet hole" in the cabinet for the 15" woofer increase the lower end bass response? Why is this a rectangular hole and why isn't it round?

@@homecinemaking397 I just don't see or agree with the engineering design of the cabinet with regards to the output design of the cabinet for the 15" speaker. Why waste most of the facility of that large speaker? Why is this never addressed by Klipsch engineers? Wouldn't a design change improve the bass response of this cabinet? Have they ever tried? For that kind of money, that speaker should perform better. Not Just be pretty and be hyped up for so much money Retail!$ WTF Here?

@ look the sound you cant deny best i have experienced its just the bass. But then again audiophiles for some reason dont care about bass that much.

I didn't think they were as big as Voice of the Theater. They seem to be close in size. Been to a house one time that had 6 Voice of the Theater Speakers for their home theater. It was an experience.

i also own the AL5 , have had many Heritage speakers , great speakers but i get very annoyed of the big bump in the 100Hz-150Hz range of the AL5.

Just by looking at the limited views of the large speaker enclosure box's base, It seems more black paint was needed. For all that money you'd think Klipsch wouldn't skimp on that.

Way overkill wattage for those sensitive speakers. With Klipsch, quality over quantity. Nice speakers man !

Agreed. I also feel that they sound best with tube amplification. We demo'd a LOT of front ends with the AL5 LaScalas from all solid state to all tubes to a mix of both. In the end, we went with a PrimaLuna E300 integrated. To our ears (totally subjective, of course), it was amazing. We barely turn the volume knob to reach a comfortable listening volume in a rather large room. They probably use less than a couple watts of power given their absurd efficiency.
