I couldn't find this in the doobly: Who is that singer?! As for quality, I thought the bookshelf speakers sounded a bit more midrangey, gut we'd probably need a Techmoan muppets response to get to the bottom of it.

Thanks so much! The vocals were from my wife;) She wrote the songs for family members;)

Sir i am trying to test voltage ripple in Hanteck DSO2C10 but i am not able do it, can you help me.
@KissAnalogАй бұрын
Thanks for asking. First, did you put it in AC coupling? So, now you can go to small volts/division and you can focus on the ripple and not the DC level. You will probably need to adjust the trigger to get it to capture. The time base should probably be around 1us to start, and then you can adjust to get what you want. Let us know if this helps;)
@PlaAwaАй бұрын
hi, have you tried bringing the bookshelf speakers right away from the wall yet? try up to a metre and see what happens.
@KissAnalogАй бұрын
I first had it pulled it further from the wall, but it sounded a little bit better closer to the wall. I saw that one Klipsch employee on their forum say that another speaker with a rear port needs to be closer to the wall... Some speakers you can just tell how bad they are - no matter where they are positioned. Positioning them later - you can optimize the sound.
@PlaAwaАй бұрын
@@KissAnalog interesting. sometimes there are these foam inserts for the port that do something or the other. these speakers, and klipsch in general are known for being bright up top. you can also consider pairing them with a sub.
@KissAnalogАй бұрын
No these 600s are not bright anywhere;) The sound seems to be coming from this small box - instead of sounding open and filling the space - if that makes sense?
@PlaAwaАй бұрын
@@KissAnalog interesting.... could the wires be back to front? I avoid this brand due to alleged brightness!
@Pete.across.the.streetАй бұрын
I have had the 600m in my tv setup for a few years now. Nothing to write home about, but I don't feel i need to replace them for tv duty.
@KissAnalogАй бұрын
Thanks for this feedback! I think the 600s are just fine - just not as good as the reviewers made them seem...

you can't put them on a desk like that you get 100 Hz dip raise them off the desk 5 inches or so, use a cardboard box or ideally some sponge. turn them upside down as well considering you're listening position I'll try them on their sides might be better. just glue a t-shaped brace about centre of the cabinet about 2" from cent between the sides and front to back you need to glue 1" blocks first let them dry do not have the end of the word touching cabinet can cause resonance buzzing. sort out the boxy just use 1 inch pine stock. you need to tie the two cross members together use a piece of rubber between and some strong stiff wire and glue. with the rubber. JB weld would do it. she sounds good you got a link to her channel. where did she record it you got a studio
@KissAnalogАй бұрын
Thanks for your suggestions...but you know when you listen to a speaker - and you say - WTF!!!??? You can improve or get a more optimal sound by placement - but you have to start with something that doesn't sound like a box. I've heard a lot of speakers - and this is made well - does not resonate - but simply does not have great drivers - period!! IMHO;) Thanks - I will tell her. She would love to sing in a band - for free ;) She does it for fun;)
@hoobsgrooveАй бұрын
@KissAnalog you can use AI as a band, why doesn't she start a KZbin channel and put her music on it, a bit shy! are you and her on blue sky? I'm not convinced the drivers are as bad as you make out you need to give it a lot more breaking in probably 5 days playing it loud at 90 DB put them facing each other playing out of phase if you don't want to hear it. speakers do need quite a bit of of break in. you saying the cabinets are well braced?? I would change the dampening material they are probably using poly fibre not very good it doesn't dampen cabinet resonance, use a wool cotton mix you know the grey stuff with the coloured fibres in it work a lot better. also get some self adhesive 4-6 mm vinyl that will stop cabinet resonance. the boxy sound you can use linoleum what is better.
@KissAnalogАй бұрын
Thanks - but I don't think any burn in or anything else is going to make that big of a difference. It isn't cabinet resonance - it is just plane small driver issues;) You can close your eyes and point right at the box it is coming out of. My SF-3s fill the space. Does that make sense?
@hoobsgrooveАй бұрын
@KissAnalog yeah it's not going to be as full sounding as your tower speakers that's not the point. its meant for near field listening or a small room. I was just saying you're not getting the full benefit of the speaker if you put it on a desk like that you're losing 100 hearts drop off, you could try it on the edge of the desk that would be alright. but because the driver or speaker is small doesn't mean it's necessary lacking! bookshelf speakers can produce a good sound stage and reasonable bass. you could try eqing it with a mini DSP below 600 Hz.
@KissAnalogАй бұрын
My Dynacos were about this size and they sounded so much fuller.

Try to listen magnetostatic loudspeakers, this is totally different world. Btw, I have Opera Mezza speakers which are completely modified with passive radiator and in different enclosure. This is all doing by my closer friend who has been designing, modifying and repairing loudspeakers for the past 30 years.
@KissAnalogАй бұрын
Thanks for this feedback! Are you referring to magnaplanars or something like them?
@FileFixer007Ай бұрын
@@KissAnalog Yes. Magneplanars but in DIY project. Beside of Electrostatic speakers, magneplanars are much easier to made as DIY. Personaly I can listen both, my other friend have music shop with listening room and with Electrostatic speakers inside. Magnetostatic speaker sounds more natural to me then Electrostatic speaker and more versatile. Electrostatic are perfect for classical music. Magnetostatic can be smaller and more usable for different types of music.

Thanks! I might build some magnetostatic speakers some day;)

I would run the speakers in for a day or two. Especially since they hve been sitting for a long time period. They need break in. But I'm a late comer here, you have probably done that by now. How are they sounding now? Good video, thanks.

@KissAnalogАй бұрын
Thanks for this! I feel like I could close my eyes and point right at each speaker - if that makes sense. My SF-3s feel the space and are not so directional. I've never heard a Wharfdale...maybe I need to change that;)

Hi Eddy, Great down to earth Videos, Can you please do a video on loudspeaker Phase as i have a set of Jamo 3 way Floor standing speakers that have the mid range and tweeter wired out of phase from the woofer , and a Jamo center speaker that has 2 mid range and a tweeter, one of the mid range speakers is wired out of phase as well, i have seen that this maybe because of the cross over frequencies of the speakers ?. it would be great if you could do this and do some bodie plots with your o-scope Thanks Dave , From the United Kingdom

Sorry about that. I was sitting between them so I shouldn't have block too much - the 600s are just junk - IMHO;)
@kb6dxnАй бұрын
You need isolators under the speaker boxes and further away from the wall. Air movement in the back is important where the vent tube is located.
@KissAnalogАй бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! I first tried it pulled away from the wall, but then other reviewers said that to get the bass - it had to be in a corner and/or near the wall. The Klipsch website forum talked about one of their speakers needing to be near the back wall for the port to work.
@joeyjustin6895Ай бұрын
10:10. W...T..H...IS THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE SPEAKERS GOING UNDER WATER. I THINK ITS YOUR BODY BLOCKING THE WAVE
@KissAnalogАй бұрын
LOL - thanks! I am sitting between them - so I might be blocking or affecting the speakers a little - but the SF-3s don't sound that bad on camera - compared to the 600s - right?
@billspencer8540Ай бұрын
Klipsch is not a brand I would ever consider again. I had some RF35 for a while, and they never sounded great. Once I did a direct A/B comparison with some old Pioneer DSS7 it was clear - Klisch stuff is trash.
@jctedsapАй бұрын
Unless you have ever heard their corner horns. Back in the late 70’s I got to experience them at a youth discotheque. They had one in each corner with a pair of Phase Linear 700’s driving them. Other than I wasn’t a fan of disco music it was perfection.
@jctedsapАй бұрын
In my humble opinion I always thought of Pioneer as second rate.
@billspencer8540Ай бұрын
@jctedsap The horn legacy is what they still live off. Today's trashy consumer Klipsch stuff doesn't come close. You might want to pick up the spec sheet for the DSS7, you will notice they not only publish the frequency response but also distortion - something Klipsch doesn't dare to do as it would confirm my complaint.
@KissAnalogАй бұрын
Thanks! I think you have to stay with the floor models - but really the old icons that they still make. I think this RP-600M stinks - and I can't believe all the people that gave it high marks...I have to really re-think what they are listening to...or motivated by...
