Icp was brilliant in turning a wresting style gimmick into a career as rappers. The story's behind the jokers cards, the side projects like rydas, lotus, sooopa villains. Almost double digit platinum/gold certifications all these years later and people in the mainstream gave them so much shit over and over and over. 8 top 20 billboard 200 albums. They've had a helluva career.

They can make good songs but they prefer to do their own style for them and their fanbase which I respect. But as members of the business they are legends in my eyes. Their promotion is one of the funnest I’ve ever seen. They put a lot of money in the hands of legends who are past their prime and they gave a spotlight to up and coming Indie guys as well. And as wrestlers they weren’t half bad.

I think it's one of those things where it just became popular to crap on them. I don't think I've ever even heard a full song of their's (possibly when they used to do Howard Stern's show in the late '90s), but from what I've seen of interviews with them they seem like solid dudes.
