Jackie, I certainly think this video series of STAMPING BASICS is a WONDERFUL idea! GREAT for new stampers and GREAT reminders for seasoned stampers, too! I have a set of “most often used mat” sizes that are templates so that whenever I create a card, I can pull out the templates and “play a bit” to see what I ACTUALLY LIKE for the card design! The templates are labeled so they make for an easy reference! Being a “visual designer”, this really helps me a lot! Hope you like “my tip”, too! TFS n’ HAPPY STAMPIN’ n’ CREATIN’ n’ TIPPIN’!!! :-)

Jackie, I forgot to include that the “labels” are the card measurements for each piece! HELPS A LOT! On another note, I recently received the “Paper Shares” from you~~~JACKIE, I LOVE THEM! SO WONDERFUL to get samples of the DSP w/Co-ordinating Cardstock~~IT IS FABULOUS! SO MUCH BETTER TO SEE THE DSP “IN REAL LIFE”~~Only problem now is that I LOVE SO MUCH OF IT! Haha! This was just such a FABULOUS OFFER~~~I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH! :-)))))

O.M.G. Thank you thank you! I need help! I have purchased sooooooooo much stuff for cards, Scrapbooking, planners, mixed media. But I need to watch you, for me to learn. I only made 2 cards, and I lack knowledge of how to be a successful crafter. I just now found your channel. I’m not knowledgeable about technology either. So I subscribed to your channel, and I’m looking forward to learning. Thank you!

Jackie, I thought that was a really useful video tutorial for all us crafters new and old because it is often the language used that confuses people e.g. layers & matts. Also there is that problem that us crafters in the UK have a different sized piece of A4 card stock to start with than you do in the US and I think Canada is the same (But don't quote me on that). But getting crafters to remember that it is about looking at what you have and making it equal on both sides. Thank you Jackie, I have only been crafting for about a year or so now. I have cut quite a lot of card stock though during that year but TOP TIP scoring an A4 piece of card stock and then cutting creating 2 pieces of card stock ready to fold, is a tip that I will take away from this video tutorial. :O)

Jackie, yes this information was indeed very helpful. I have been scrapbooking and card making for a long time, and always find myself making notes for measurements when I see a layout or design that I like. NOW, I can figure it out all by myself... LOL THANKS!!!

Jackie I just found your KZbin videos this morning and live them. When you were showing this video on Basic Cutting you were showing a card with a cross on the front. Do you have this cross in the Stamping Up products or was this from a store or other product? I really liked your videos and you explain your card making that it makes it so easy to follow. Your videos are also very clear quality. Thank you for helping me understand card making a little better. I am a scrapbookers and trying to also do cards. Keep coming with these basic instructions for us beginners, I love them.

This back to basic series is a great idea! I can't wait to see what other basics I can brush up on! Just wondering if you know the exact weight of the Whisper White regular and thick cardstock? Another tip I learned along the card crafting way is: before you score your card stock; lay your card stock in the palm of your hand, if the paper bows downward, lay it on your scoring apparatus & score. If it bows upward, you will be going against the natural bend of the paper.
@nancygreer22636 жыл бұрын
Glad I stumbled on your channel! Love the back to basics.... wondering... is there a "layout" to show the best way to cut out cardstock when you are cutting out all of the different sized layering pieces for the different card styles I've seen various Stampin' up demonstrators do? Don't like wasting paper, and it would be great to be able to "prep" pre-cut layers from different colors to just be able to pull from from stash and blast thru a bunch of cards instead of cutting for each project. The plus is not to waste either, so not sure if you have a template, or can recommend where to find one. Thanks again, looking forward to watching more of your videos!

Great video!!! However; I still am lost on what people do with pattern paper. Paper with a busy background - I see paper packs everywhere and I so love the paper but then I look at it and go ...now what on earth do I do with this, if I cut it here it will cut half the image off, if I cut it like this it will cut this off ect.....please explain what one uses those pattern paper packs for other then to cut embellishments out of.... Thank you.

Has anyone made a chart of numbers that we that are ruler challenged could just see numbers instead of figuring it all out? I really enjoyed your video and will keep trying...I have heard that when folding it goes better if you fold the mountain in so it doesn't crack as easily? Do you find this to be true? TFS this video.
