A lot of people will overlook the insane creativity and engineering that went into the design of that roof. The fact that you can see so much of nature through the roof and the upper section of the wall, yet still manage how the light falls in without affecting the ambience and temperature is amazing. I would have loved to have been involved in the shoot just to ask how on earth they even came up with this.

Cape Town is probably my favorite city in the world when it comes to access to nature, and they managed to get views of some of its best parts through this roof and window design. It really is the perfect house to me.

Even just "basic" homes round my township have such interesting features. But you have to take your time catch a different perspective

I really do LOVE that home. Who ever built it knew what they were doing; the ragged mountain just right outside of the back, the foliage, the sweeping city views. I love LA California's cliff homes with views, but the Kloof house with the mountain view so close and the land scaping, Oh my! 😊 Takes my breath away. 🤗🤗🤗

Everything you do is enhanced in a space like this. Every time of day. All weather conditions. They all provide a special moment. I can imagine even a stormy day, with the interior warmly lit, watching the table cloth roll off the mountain top... Such a ceaseless, perpetual, exquisite romance. My problem with Camps Bay is the foot on the break as coming down from Kloof Nek road lol. Seriously, by the time I get down, I have a cramp. Then I think about when I'm old. Great place to retire in if you are rich and can have a driver! I'm building in the village with cows and sheep surrounding me in a relatively flat land.

The most dangerous animal you'll encounter in Cape Town is a white shark - in the sea. Next is the puff adder, but these aren't commonly seen and are far more likely to be seen by your dogs than you. Baboons will be the biggest pest in this house, but that's a threat worth having in exchange for the space, view, and build.
