Messi has 1200+ goals and assists, but the most impressive thing about Leo is that stats do not give him justice. He is way above the statistics. This is what Ronaldo fans don't want to admit as they always compare their goalscoring numbers. Some are already comparing Lamin Yamal to Leo, but I don't think Yamal will reach that level.

Notice how Klopp keeps saying his father who seen Pele and all the greats that followed and says Pele is the best and how Klopp says, 'I don't know, I havent seen him play, but for me its Messi?' If only people would be as logical as Klopp, instead of saying 'this is why Messi is the GOAT.

What I'm trying to say that Klopp made an intelligent decision to understand that he can't really do a real claim on who is the greatest ever, because he hasnt seen the greats his father has seen who also has seen Messi and still calls Pele greater. So Klopp says that Messi is the best he has seen, because he for example did not watch Pele to decide. My father has seen everyone from Pele to Cruyff to Maradonna, to Zico, Platini, Van Basten, Gullit, Romario, Ronaldo, Zidane and now Cristiano and Messi and calls Pele the greatest he has seen as well. And even though I only seen late 80's till now, I believe him. The best I have seen since then is Brazilian Ronaldo and Maradonna and by that I mean pure talent. Messi, Cristiano, Romario, van Basten and Zidane behind them.

@@Herosennin i wonder how much you understand about football with this kind of strange list of yours. its a matter of perception. maybe you and your dad are just not that perceptive when it comes to football? to talk about pure talent and have a list were dinho doesnt show up but van basten and cristiano ( the prime example of hard work, so quite the opposite of pure talent) is kind of where i stop discussing or conversating. another pointless comment ~ have your perception, but dont wonder if people dont like talking to or even mocking you.

If Ronaldo (and most Man United fans) were completely honest with themselves...they would admit that Messi is better than EVERYONE. It's not even a debate. Most professionals and fans outside those groups would pick Messi anyway as unbiased observers. I would not however, deny the fact that Ronaldo is one of the all time greatest players because he is. His consistency and fitness levels for so many years is testament to that. It's just Messi is...Messi.

It's undeniable that CR is the, physically, hardest worker. Very admirable in and of itself. Exceedingly skilled,,, at scoring. And, showboating. On paper, he may be better. But it's all about HIM. There doesn't seem to be an ounce of humility in the man. I just can't be a fan. Messi, on the other hand, SEEMS as humble as a man can be. I've never met him so, I can't really say for sure. But, when you see the disparity in the assists column, you see one guy willing to let someone else take a shot. The end.

Messi spending most of his time playing as a playmaker, even he often goes deep enough to the half of the field to get a ball and controlling the game, yet he still scored 840+ goals and still counting. That alone is enough to certified him as the greatest of all time. Yes, Cristiano also play as a winger in United, but it was only for 6 years. After that, he was and still is Center Forward, so it's understandable he gets more goals than Messi (not saying his 900+ goals record not amazing, though).

Klopp’s first statement is kinda misleading, though. Messi, especially in his younger days, had a great work ethic. He’d always track back, it was Pep (I think) who said to him to calm down with all the running, as they needed him fresh - his energy was then geared towards a more attacking game, which would then result in him becoming the goal scorer that he is now regarded as. Comparing Salah to Messi is hilarious, btw 😂

Slot has made a brilliant start tactically at LFC and has played it exactly right by his understatement and not trying to be a 2nd Jurgen. Don't half miss JK though. Respect to both, and 100% agree about Messi. Been lucky enough to see Pele, Best, Cruyff, Maradona etc in my lifetime, and though so difficult to compare generations, I would go for Leo.

I do actually agree with you that Maradona was the most talented ever. He started playing 2 years earlier than Messi and age 20 he was already a legend. But then he lost track pretty early in Europe, messed with the coke and only played like 4 good seasons in almost a decade. Maradona with focus would have been incredible. Messi is slightly less talented, but had focus and dedication, which made him way more successfull than Maradona ever was. And which in the end makes him better than Maradona

@@seanpennhauer9133 I think Maradona had more natural ball control than Messi, but I don't think he was more talented at the sport itself. Messi's brain and body together are more talented than Maradona. However, Maradona could send people into a trance with his ability to play with the ball, much like Ronaldinho. But in terms of pure footballing talent to the actual game, Messi is definitely more gifted.
