Jones is the most intelligent of that generation, he's one of those rare types who can carry an ego without a trace of narcissism, he always seems to have been that way. He's lived the rock n roll lifestyle, mixed with all that LA/New York crowd, probably been around numerous assholes yet the sleaze somehow never rubbed off on him or any of that British wannabe yank wild man crap like with Billy idol or that Depeche Mode singer. While Lydon gradually morphed into the Cliff Richard of punk for the British establishment, Jones seems immune to any kind of internally corrupting influence.

I thought Linda was joining forces with the NYC people (Joey's brother Mickey Leigh, etc) and just making it a Ramones night? I heard that a few years ago. I'm sure it's still a great time! This woman has made a pile of cash from being the widow of Johnny Ramone. It's ironic then that she misses the point, especially her comment about punk not having any award shows. Punk doesn't have awards because the punk idea is anti-award. Punk is about DIY, not getting the approval of others.
@Vinseneb5 жыл бұрын
Yeah! she's at it with her museums and shit, The Ramones were a phenomenon for sure but she's just sponging off their history and you're right about the DIY aspect and some of the ideals that Ramones never had, and those terrible haircuts they had, too much junkie business as well.
