You forgot to steam up th fur before glazing, and you did not put silicone shin spray for water repellent, I use to make my own, last you did not press the lining... Then you have the whole new coat drumming, with thicker grade saw dust, would use PWI it was great, That would take out all the lose hairs from the dropping for the skins, then that would really need a good steaming to make sure all the fur was not wrinkled from blocking... Loved that job!!! Good vedio guys & gals!!

Is there a furrier in your area? It's very important to clean, condition and glaze your fur the correct way.

For mines I take it to a furrier for deep cleaning yearly in between I use this stuff called Lana's Fur Care which is great for my mink and fox hats.

Hello and thanks for the video! I was wondering, I have some older furs, that have suffered a little due to the dry climate we live in. Is there any way I can hydrate the leather and/or the fur at home? I use a good hydrating cream for my leather coats and furniture every once in a while, could I do the same with the inside of the fur (the non hairy part)? And what about cleaning the fur and maybe gently washing it with some good hair conditioner, could that be in some way good for the fur hair? Sadly there are no professional fur cleaners any where near, and the ones who are, well I don’t trust too much with my furs, that’s why I’m trying to do something for myself. hi I recently purchased a knitted wool sweater from a dead old rich lady which happened to have the pelt of a rabbit or some small animal sewn on the back of the neck for embellishment... but it's insanely delicate to the point bits of it just fall off! so I took the sewing off and kept it to try and fix it. can anyone PLEASE help me I have zero clue what to do... the old lady seemed to have put loads of perfume on the pelt cause it smells very strong of perfume to this day and I bought it three months ago...

Sir - any tips on how to preserve the mouton collar on my antique leather jacket? The thick mouton is fine for now, but i was wondering how to preserve it, ive seen some that have bald spots and cracking over time, thats what i want to hopefully avoid down the line.

Make sure to store in proper humidity/temperature that’s the most important thing for trying to maintain an old fur pelt, also make sure the covering for storage is not made of plastic

vintage fur is the best to buy. you are supporting thrift stores not the fur makers. many fur trades are now illegal, but many old coats are out there. they are sadly already dead but why let them die to collect dust and go to waste. faux fur is plastic and bad for environment. support thrifting and vintage
