Kmart - Kearny, NJ. Located just 2.8 miles down the street from the Belleville, NJ Kmart, this store was busy and updated but not to the extent of the Belleville Kmart. Still nice though! Glad to see it busy!

I am from Kearny. I love this store. Was just there today. So sad to see it closing. It's been a staple of my whole life. I'm going every day until it's gone.

I grew up in Kearny. My mom use to work at that Kmart. I spent so much time there. There use to be a cafeteria in the back and a place to by slushies and hot foods in front. It opened In 1981.

The area that had the black tiles scattered is characteristic of the Little Caesar's areas. I'm guessing behind the curtain was the kitchen for Little Caesar's.

Looks like a nice one you found. Wow 6 minutes from another store. I wish I could support the cause better with documenting kmarts but with only two left in Illinois, it's hard. There is another one in the Chicago media market in Valparaiso Indiana, but it's a little far, but I'll get to it at some point. Thanks for showing this.

Garden shop merchandise is discontinued overall. Only things they're really keeping around are lawn furniture and the statues and such.

You are truly Mr. KMart and you pay respect to these stores, surviving and closing . It's the respect thing that makes me really enjoy all your work. I"m glad that this KMart is hanging on. Considering the city also has a Wally World. But that Wally World is tacky and full of characters who would be stars of a People of WalMart video. My male BFF took me to that WalMart to buy my Christmas/birthday gift a flat screen TV and had to ask three people where the electronics department was. We should have gone to KMart. Also this Kearny KMart looks like my Jersey city KMart which shut a year ago this month. Though they didn't renovate my KMart like this one. On another KMart note there are a LOT of Steelers fans in my area. IN HOboken at least one or two bars are Steelers official bars for fans. The banners and the towels are everwhere. We are also getting a lot of Penguins fans. Looking forward to the rest of your New Jersey adventure videos.

The Kmart near me looks like it's straight out of the 90s it's the only one left in the area if I'm remembering right it's a Big K. It was supposed to close a year ago but didn't because the nearby competitor closed.

Hey I live in the town right next to that Kmart and I go there sometimes. That back area was a portrait studio. The little caesars was in the front near the cashiers. It was on the left hand side when you walked in the beginning.

There is a Walmart Supercenter in Kearny, right off the NJ Turnpike & I-280 interchange. A new Wawa opened there when the Walmart was expanded.

That is how the Kmart In Charleston west Virginia is it is one of the busiest Kmarts I have been to it is decent size store and it only has 6 or 8 registers my local Kmart in beckley west Virginia only had 5 because it was a decent size Kmart but big store it was only 90,225 square foot

You should come to Walnutport, PA Kmart if it closes. It is one of the few left. There is also historic Jim Thorpe nearby, and Country Junction and not too far away from there is Pocono Raceway. The Walnutport Kmart has the newest logo of all red Kmart spelled out. I think the Walnutport Kmart has the orange and brown.

Damn...looks like we should have sent you with a box truck to swipe a dozen of those carts. The Sears I work at is in desperate need of some new carts and this Kmart looks like they have more than they need. It's not theft if they're being dropped off at another location the company owns. ;-)

Aaand now its Target, I stopped going to Kmart because this one the electronics section was always non existent and at there was no kiosks to play on which I would've appreciated as a kid. Still had a lot of good memories here and I showed during the last month till it officially closed around end of 2019 if I recalled. I ended up getting some school supplies that I still have to this day.

Exactly. Within 2 days ago, I just happen to stop by at Burlington. Believe it or not, it was a Kmart at one point and it closed in 2003. Burlington kept their old circular air vents.
