In the early days of KMFDM, they were really quiet and mysterious about what KMFDM meant. On the album Angst, there's a song called Sucks where they say they hate Depeche Mode. From that, fans theorized that "Kill MotherFuckin Depeche Mode" was what KMFDM stood for, and, the band did nothing to dispute that until years later when they gave the story about Kein Murheit Fur Die Mitleid.

This song, Kunst, is pretty much made up of all titles of former KMFDM songs or albums, and also a lot of sounds and effects from previous tracks, so, that's why they put that Depeche Mode line in the song.

Actually it's "Kein Mitleid für die Mehrheit(no Mercy for the majority) " Greetings from Germany. 😊

@@daiobrandonmobil9542 No it's "Kein Mehrheit Für die Mitleid" as a purposely grammatically incorrect parody on "Kein Mitleid für die Mehrheit".

KMFDM actually stands for a German phrase: Kein Mehrheit Fur Die Mitleid. Loosely translates to No Pity For The Majority.

I can shed some light on that. This is more or less the band making fun of a rumor that popped up about them long ago. The name of the band stands for the (intentionally grammatically incorrect) German phrase "Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid", which translates to "No Majority For The Pity" but if it was written correctly, would be "No Pity For The Majority" But the thing was.... for many years, no one knew that. Fans always guessed what the name stood for. That Depeche Mode phrase was a long standing rumor by people as to what it could have stood for, but it was more or less fans joking. It became such a big joke that the band became aware of the rumor. So after setting the record straight, they would reference this rumor every now and then, also as a joke. That's why it came up in this song.

Oh and also this entire song..... is made up entirely of lyrics from other songs, names of others songs they did, phrases from other songs and the names of other albums.

@@xsezz yes i found out about KMFDM about 2 1/2 years ago after rediscovering Rammstein. I like some of their music like...krank, why me, waste, and light,,,i believe that megalomaniac was the first song i heard that made me want to check out more of thier music.

Took it from misinterpreted meaning of KMFDM. They actually worked and respected Depeche Mode. Sascha is great.
