I posted this in other reactors videos, so I'll just copy and paste my thoughts. Thank you for the reaction. I have now seen this music video several times, and I have listed to the song without the video, and I have watched the choreography unedited video. I have also purchased this song on iTunes. I like the song a lot, the more and more I listen to it the more it grew on me. All of that said, the song is way too short. Jennie has talent, she can sing, she has the vocals, and she can dance. The problem is that this song and music video do not show this full potential of her. It doesn't let her flex her vocal range to her potential. I know she can go further. This song needs more space vocally to let her sing more. It seems like on the surface it has more dance breaks, than actual vocal singing parts. The song needs to be twice as long, for starters. She has so much potential, but I don't see this song showing that potential. If this song was going to be so short and so contained, then we needed more solo songs from her, or even an entire album. In this way we would get to know her style better. This video only gives us a hint of the style she prefers. We need more, we need to see her flex her potential, and this song is not doing that. Jennie is my bias in Blackpink. I want to see her potential and what she can really do solo. She needs a song she can belt out loud, do some high notes, and just really really sing. This song is more dancing than singing. Which of course she is really good at as well. It just needs more space for her to sing in.
