The city wants the property. This is 21 century “Eminent Domain”. -Find “code violation” -run up the fines without notice to the owner - file in court to seize/demolish property Or “Building catches fire” - demolish building after a fire for “safety” - bill the owner for demolishing the building so much that they can’t pay and forfeit the property to the city. And now the city owns primo property in a high traffic area that can be redeveloped by a select development firm…. By now you’ve figured out this is all back room deals. That property was on the radar of someone in city hall who has been paid by a developer to make that property available to them for cheap. Sounds wild but look around, fallow the money.
