I have listened to Angelina every day for 8 years...since she was 8. I have never become tired or bored of her due to the way she embodies different genre and vocal techniques yet maintains her distinctive individuality. I prefer many of her covers to the originals. BANG BANG..., IM HOLDING OUT GOR YOU, and STAY, not to mention this years Elvis cover SUSPICIOUS MINDS.

sheez a boss too..her capacity to lead to form ..to dance in the melody ..her timing .. all the while painting with an emotional brush so uncannily brilliant.. her little finger twice turning in a little circle as she directed and produced a moment I will never forget..Sweet Angelina.. the words of your song at once...spoke to us of love so deep.."because I'm your right now.."..a mystery full of possibilities rampant in ;vulnerability..all wrapped up in such a fragile fighting spirit..God bless you sweet little girl..what a wondrous thing He has done in creating such a garden (humus)..in you..you are humble enough to write so young of your faith in the Creator Who is Able to bear you and watch over your precious soul... (at your tender age..)Thank you Father for this wonderful wee girl..and too for all others.. with or without shoes..

There are blacks in Norway and I did see some around her in the Norway singing thing. She sings that song "your daddy's rich and your mom is good looking", true, her mom is good looking. My guess is mom really loves blues & jazz or she had a black boyfriend who introduced her blues and jazz. and she played them constantly when she was pregnant. The thing is she does covers, better than the original singer, no matter who it is. I put a link up on a blog I'm on, mostly retired military, some are pushing 100 and one or two are over the century line and they all loved her. Especially the blues and jazz fans, they went totally nuts. One guy said I couldn't stop watching and listening, each song left him wanting more.

Angelina is one of the most addictive singers I have ever listened to, & one of the very few, that can pull you right into the song, making you feel, every word, every note, & every emotion. ❤️💙 I always have this feeling that Angelina is not only channeling some of these late great singers, but that they also pass through her, when she is singing their song ❤️💙 A rare beauty, in every sense of the word ❤️💙 Loved your reaction!!!

Since Angelina is new to you and maybe some of your followers, here's a quick bio: - Angelina Jordan was born in Jan 2006. She is currently 13 (barely 9 in this performance) - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through KZbin videos and studied all greats from Jazz history. - When Angelina was 6, she was traveling and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. The girl complimented her on her pretty shoes, so Angelina took them off and gave them to the girl. She made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public she is barefoot. (that's a shortened version. the full story is more touching than the way I have told it here) - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the money, the 8 year old replied "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 80 songs over the last 5 years, everything ranging from old classics to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, and many more. All of which heard her doing covers of their songs and were blown away. - Angelina has written three of her own original songs (at 12 years old): "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

Angelina Jordan (born Angelina Jordan Astar on 10 January 2006) is a Norwegian child singer, of Iranian ancestry, whose audition for the 2014 season of Norway's Got Talent at the age of seven, singing "Gloomy Sunday" in the style of Billie Holiday, became a viral video online, and led to worldwide press coverage.[1][2] She went on to win the competition (at eight) with her performance of George Gershwin's "Summertime". Since then she has worked to raise millions of dollars on behalf of environmental causes and children's charities around the world. She always performs barefoot, after befriending a young shoeless girl while traveling when she was six years old. Jordan wrote a book about the experience and became the youngest published author in Norway. After Jordan's performances of two Billie Holiday songs, "Gloomy Sunday" and "I'm a Fool to Want You", on Norway's Got Talent, as well as "Fly Me to the Moon" on a TV talk show, all went viral online in March 2014, she was featured in Time,[1] Daily Mirror,] People, and other news outlets around the world.[6] She continued in the competition singing Nancy Sinatra's version of "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" live in the semifinals,[7] and won with her performance of George Gershwin's "Summertime", in the style of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong's 1958 recording of the song. In September 2014, she performed "Fly Me to the Moon" on the US television show The View,[8] bringing her wider fame in the United States. She also performed on several TV 2 programs in Norway over the next few years, including multiple appearances on Allsang på Grensen (Singalong at the Border, referring to the border fortress of Fredriksten where outdoor concerts are held) and on TV4 in Sweden. Jordan had a small guest role in the final episode of the Netflix series Lilyhammer, playing a girl who sings in a bar.[9] In December 2014, she realized a personal ambition by performing for Peace Prize recipients Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.[10] Jordan's recording debut, the three-song maxi-single My Christmas, was released in December 2014.[11] To support the release, Jordan performed the songs on multiple TV shows, including an appearance on Christmas Day. In 2015, Jordan began recording music that would eventually be collected on the six-song Angelina Jordan - The EP, released on 27 November 2017.[12] Many of the tracks were posted to her official KZbin channel[13] well in advance of the EP release, in the form of music videos and lyric videos. These included her covers of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You", the music video for which was directed by Per Heimly, and Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black", in which Jordan sang her own original lyrics. These two music videos became the most popular videos on her official KZbin channel, surpassing 5 million views each by 2020. In 2017, she created a second KZbin channel specifically to present performances of cover songs.[14] In November 2015, Jordan published the book Mellom to hjerter (Between Two Hearts), illustrated by her grandmother, Iranian artist Mery Zamani.[15] The book tells the story of her meeting a poor motherless girl in Asia who has no shoes. After a long conversation in which they discuss their dreams in life, she gives the girl her shoes and the girl promises to pray for Jordan to fulfill her dream to become a successful singer. According to Jordan the book is based on a real incident which she cites as the reason for always performing barefoot.[16] In April 2016, Jordan performed "Fly Me to the Moon" on the first season of the noncompetitive children's talent show Little Big Shots.[17] A year later she performed "What a Difference a Day Makes" on the UK version of the show. She also performed "I Put a Spell on You" on the German edition of the show, Little Big Stars, in 2017. In December 2016, she performed on Alan Walker is Heading Home, a live concert broadcast from Bergen, Norway, where she sang Walker's songs "Sing Me to Sleep" and "Faded".[18] On 15 June 2018, a full album of recordings with Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces (Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps), called It's Magic, was released.[19] The next day, Jordan and the band performed the full album live in a concert attended by Norway's Prime Minister. On 27 June 2018, Jordan performed "Fly Me to the Moon" for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London, as part of his 85th birthday celebration, and also joined with other singers to perform "Man in the Mirror" to close the show.[20][21] In 2019, Jordan performed for former president Barack Obama and other public figures at the Brilliant Minds conference in Stockholm. In October 2019, she competed in the second season of America's Got Talent: The Champions, which was aired in January and February 2020.[22] Her first appearance on the show, singing an original arrangement of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", received a "golden buzzer" from judge Heidi Klum (meaning that Jordan would pass directly into the finals). As with her Norway's Got Talent audition six years earlier, a video of Jordan's performance began to go viral on KZbin, quickly reaching 10 million views.[23] The performance also garnered praise from Queen's official Twitter account.[24] Shortly afterwards, the video was taken down[23] and Jordan released a studio version of the same arrangement under her own copyright.[25] Jordan's second performance (in the finals), a similarly reworked "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" based largely on a version by Sara Bareilles, was also well received, but she was not among the top 5 acts. In August 2020, Jordan's manager (her uncle, Michael Astar) announced that she had signed with Republic Records.[3] Her first single on the label, "Million Miles", was released on 6 November 2020, on all major digital platforms.[4] An official lyric video was posted to her official KZbin channel the same day.[26] The track was produced by the Norwegian duo Stargate, who also co-wrote the song with Jordan.[27] She has since released two additional music videos for the song: one showing her singing the song "live" in a recording studio, the other an "official music video" featuring her younger sister.[28][29] Jordan was born in Oslo, Norway, and has lived for extended periods both there and in Los Angeles. She also lived for a time in the Middle East. She has a younger sister who has been featured in two of her music videos. Her father, Gerry Christian Slattman, is Swedish. Her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar, is the daughter of Iranian artist and poet Mery Zamani and a Japanese father.[31][16] Jordan attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where she received vocal training. In addition to singing, she plays the piano, violin, guitar, and flute, and also paints.[32] As of 2020, she is living and going to school in Los Angeles As of 2019, Angelina Jordan’s estimatednet worth is $9.4 million .

In this video at the age of nine she composed and choreographed it. And has done it to every song that she has done after that. In the video you see the guy reading her lyrics that she decided what she was going to sing. And today she’s at the age of 15 and she’s already a self-made millionaire. Norway has a statue of her. She is a celebrity in Norway. Norwegian is her original language English is another language that she speaks and reads she’s very versatile in different languages. She wrote a book in Norway when she was very young she’s even in the Guinness book world records for Norway’s most youngest authors. She is with no doubt a prodigy.

Her Iranian grandmother, who was a child art prodigy, used to take care of her when she as a kid. Grandma had a large music collection and they used to listen to it together. She was apparently a huge influence in her life. When her grandmother was ready for college, she had asked her parents to send her to Japan for college because she loved Japanese art. There she met a japanese art professor who she married and Angelina's mother was born. Her mother married a Swedish oil engineer and they lived in Norway when her marriage ended. Her daughter, obviously inherited the family's knack for genius. They all supported Angelina's musical passion, even to the point of entering her into Norway's GotTalent. After she won, which I imagine was a surprize, they were very cautious in how the made her available to the public but obviously spent a great deal of money training her. Lately they seem to have made her more available to the public.

Heads up, she was 7.....Every beautiful note-phrase and intonation set aside for a moment, when she sings, ''It sends shivers down my spine'' is a spiritual sensation. She was born (maybe has a reincarnation or 2) with this raw emotional expression through singing (vocalist). This is not (can't be) taught. Yes she is a vocalist, but more, she is an artist of expression though her voice-emotion. I would think the souls like Amy Winehouse and other voice-expression artist have visited her. Whether she (or anyone else) knows it or not. She is ''star dust'' of emotional expression. Like seeing the Sistine Chapel, Mona Lisa or the statue of David for the first time. Check out her reditional of Queens Song, on AGT at 13 yo... That will (or has) Blown you away, enjoy

Angelina gave out her debut single November 2020. And it's truly amazing. She won Norway got talent 2014 at the age of 7. Both her parents are artistic, but not in music. I believe she has the music part from her grandfather. Her own words about this song: "This song is dedicated to anyone who has lost a loved one. I wrote this song and thought about all the good memories I had with my grandfather and how painful it is to lose someone. I hope this song finds a place in your heart, as it comes straight from mine. "

You should to a reaction on that one. She was only seven.

You did expect another high belting girl, didn't you? Like all the other child singers of today. They are singing their lungs out, she is pouring out her soul... She is different, totaly diffrent. She is acctually 9 years old when tjis was recorded, not 10 as most think. Not that it matters when it comes to her, I am sure dhe came out of her mother singing jazz. She won Norways got talent when she was 8. Entered when she was 7. She was un a league of her own, it was clear when she opent her mouth and sung gloomy sunday by Billie Holiday, that she was already the winner. She is known today, but not as much as one should expect, it is because she doesnt go all out to be that superstar that she one day really want to be. Her parents are holding her back, in a very good way. They want her to have a solid normal childhood, not be a superstar. But she do take singing lessons. She is 13 now. I like the point you make about how surprising it is that someone so young can have absorbed so much *essence* of music. Not just knowledge. Many kids have listened to a lot since very young, but very few, like Angelina and Grace Vanderwaal, have the special ability to take in deep down what can be done with different genres. A part of true talent. And it was fun to see yr taken by surprise reaction.

I too think she's out of this world amazing! Absolutely love her deep Jazz raspy voice and how she sings so easily and in my eyes perfect. I like Aurora, too, even though I don't compare them, very different. Can you react to her, too? I loved this video! Your concentration and eyes said it all! Funny to see your reaction! ;-)

I've watched a lot of Angelina, but I always come back to this performance as the most impressive performance of hers that I have seen. Another favorite of mine is "A Million Years Ago".

It immediately became my favourite when I first heard it and remained so until she recorded Queen's The Show Must Go On. Then my brain went into a turmoil and I struggled to make sense of the emotions which filled my being - which should now be favourite? Fortunately, common sense took over and I have now irrevocably decided that ALL of Angelina's recording are favourite. Problem solved :-)

She started singing at less than two years of age. She's watched jazz and blues videos. She's all over Europe. She sang at the Nobel Peace Prize concert when she was 7 or 8 years old.

Love the reaction. Everyone reacts somewhat like this, first time hearing her do this song. 9 yrs old. Nothing short of amazing. Some voice coaches, reactors, get as far a " Wow. Wow. Wow " with a look of disbelief on their faces 😊 Fun to watch when you know whats coming. And she does it so effortlessly

She went all the way back to the Screaming Jay Hawkins version of the song. The guy used to come out of a coffin, for Christs sake, When he sang this song on stage. Very much his influence on this rendition here. Adding the Jazz arrangement was really cool though.. Much different than Bette Midler or CCR's versions. I've heard Angelina do quite a range of different material, and she manages to capture the essence of mostly everything she does. Quite a talented young lady. I think we'll be hearing more from her in the future. *Cheers*

Her parents in Norway let her decide what she liked to do and about age 2 she heard her parents play old jazz records. She fell in love with Billy Holiday and her songs and would listen to them and other jazz records for hours. She says when she sings she goes to a place in her mind that's beautiful and she feels very free. She's written a few songs, "Shield" and "What is Life". I love her version of "What a Difference a Day Makes", Fly Me To The Moon", "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)", "A Million Years Ago" and "Back to Black". She is a pupil at Oslo Waldorf School Oslo Waldorf School and also attends the after-school program Oslo School of Music and Performing Art where she receives vocal training. In addition to singing she plays the piano, violin and flute.

Angelina said herself that she found most of the cover songs herself when she got access to an iPad when she was very young. She found a lot of songs she liked on KZbin. Then she decided to sing some of them. So KZbin was her main source for jazz songs etc. Angelina's family moved to LA in March 2018. Angelina goes to school in LA now and just finished Middle school. One reason to move to LA was to be able to improve her music development. E. g. finding the best voice teachers possible for her. Another to build relations with important people in the music business. Already her manager has relations to people like Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson and David Foster. It will be easier to become a superstar from LA than Oslo.

Angelina has an uncanny ability to grasp the essence of song - and a wide array of them. She usually sings them, old and new tunes, as well or better than the original artists; and that in her preteen years. She a touched-by-God once in a lifetime artist in my opinion; a real gift for all of us.
