Kneaded Erasers A Beginners Guide

This is a new style of video so I hope you dig it. This video took me about 4 days to make a few hours each day, and it took me like 2 weeks to upload since my schedule has gone bonkers. I've been extremely busy but I will continue to make videos either way cause its fun. Alright guys I will start uploading more regularly I promise so til next time. Hopefully next week ill have a new video up, since I already recorded it! The hard part is all the editing D: alright BYE!

How long does it usually take before the kneaded eraser "dies"? XD and theres no way to clean it with like, water or something? I got a pencil art set (bye bye Crayola) and it came with a kneaded eraser, so im kinda new to this whole kneaded eraser thing lol

It really depends how much you use it and with what medium, if you use it daily with charcoal or pastel it will last you less, then it would with graphite. I've had kneaded erasers that have lasted me for 6 months!

If the eraser gets a bit dirty or stained, knead the dirt in and it will get absorbed but if it gets whole dirty already it’s time to say bye bye kneaded eraser

This helped me SO much! The kneaded eraser I have is my first EVER kneaded eraser... I probably should've looked up how to use it lol. The reason y I like it is because it didn't hv the eraser shavings... Anyway, my eraser got so black that it started to take the led from the eraser and put it back on my paper while erasing.... After watching the part of ur video about stretching the eraser just helped me so much! Thanks! Please, someone, count how many times I've typed eraser... Lol

my eraser just tears instead of stretching, can i fix this with water or something? EDIT: just tried it cause I'm an impatient curious little weirdo and it kinda works aside from sticking to my hand a little bit. Now that i think about it, it seems like that was a bad idea... All you gotta do is stretch it out and knead it a lot. Depending on how much you used it, it should absorb all of the graphite or whatever else you used it with. If you already did this and it's still hard and covered in graphite then it's done for.

Lol one of my classmates gave me a pack with an eraser AND the kneaded eraser. I had never seen this kind of eraser and i just thought it was a stress ball or something for when you get stressed at not being able to draw what you want to draw. I just bought the Winsor & Newton medium kneaded eraser and it's so sticky that I feel uncomfortable using it, it also performs worse than my regular Boxy eraser :c Did I buy the incorrect brand? Which one is the best?

Hey, I usually buy Generals, they are not as sticky as some others i've gotten. But usually stickiness doesn't last as long as you keep using it. Eventually they get stiffer and easier to use the more you use them. I also have a boxy eraser its one of my favorites :p

I use Prismacolor. I got it in a set with art gum and a plastic eraser from Amazon. It's not sticky and works fairly well.
