No Pain, MORE Gain with the joint supplement trusted by today’s top pro athletes - athleanx.com/x/...
Knee pain is one of the most debilitating discomforts that you can feel when you're working out, especially during a leg workout. Pain in your knees can come in many different forms. You can get ligament pain usually seen from an injury to the ACL or MCL. You can get meniscus pain that usually results in a knee that gives out or locks unexpectedly. You can also get arthritic changes to the surfaces of the bones in the joint that makes movement difficult.
That said, the most common cause of knee pain in those working out is patellofemoral or patellar tracking dysfunction. In this video, I show you the root cause of the knee pain and more importantly, how to fix the pain. There are many exercises for knee pain but if the ones you're doing are only focusing on the quads and the muscles around the knee, then you're not looking at the complete picture.
Most pains are caused by dysfunction at joints above or below the site of the pain. In the case of the knee, you have to look up to the hip or down to the ankle for the real cause of the pain. Patellofemoral exercises are usually the focus of treatment for knee pain. They even are considered the best workout for knee pain. That's a mistake.
There's more to getting rid of knee soreness than just working on that VMO. Knee pain on squats is common when there are tracking issues in the kneecap. Most often, weak hips (glute medius exactly) cause the femur to track incorrectly. You want to do exercises for knee pain that strengthen your glutes.
I show you the easiest and best way to do this so you can start fixing your knee discomfort and soreness starting now.
For a more comprehensive treatment for knee pain, you may want to check out the latest in sports nutrition and science. The ATHLEAN-Rx joint supplement - MECHAN-X is revolutionizing joint recovery and helping guys who have suffered with pain in their training, workout without pain for the first time in a long time. You can see more about it at athleanx.com/at...

I'm an active duty parachutist, have been for 18 years. I finally went to medical to get help for my knees because it got so bad I could barely climb stairs (but I was still jumping). Naval medicine told me I had chronic knee pain and told me to do lunges and leg curls. Everything they did just aggravated my knees further. Through X-rays it was discovered I have metal fragments imbedded in and around my knee, so MRI is out and naval medicine basically gave up on me. Jeff's videos have given me so much I've been able to reduce my pain to a point I may be able to start carrying my wife up to bed again. Thanks, Jeff.

Blake Water How did the metal fragments managed to get imbedded into your knee?
@Blakewater0326
@Blakewater0326 5 жыл бұрын
Not sure. IED, RPG, mortar, rocket, hand grenade; take your pick. The fragments are fairly small, but there's a few. Enough that they can't figure out how to image my knees. Small and deep enough that surged to remove them would do more damage than the little bits already have. I was concerned, but like I said finding Jeff's channel and scouring the internet I actually have a proper PT program and a lot of the pain is gone.

Thank you! I fell in 2014 on my knees and had physical therapy. I even got a cortisone shot. I used to do the dropping of the hip on a stair step, but this looks promising to help with knee pain when I do my squats. I also LOVE 💘 your Athlean XX for women. I finished the program twice. The 1st time I only lost some weight but not too many inches. The 2nd time around I did it with intermittent fasting & completely changed my eating habits. I've gone down from a 14 to a 10 and still going. Your program is great!

Wish I had seen this 15 years ago. Would have never stopped working out, running, and playing basketball. I thought I had cartilage or meniscus damage. Got an MRI recently and found out it's just poor tracking in one knee (my less used leg for jumping in basketball for over a decade) giving me patellar tendonitis/inflammation and caused by weak glutes and hips. Hoping the PT exercises along with this can get me back to being able to run and jump without fear again.

Cut back on your portions a little at a time, you will lose weight this way along with exercise. Just leave something on your plate, one bite of food at each meal. Do that for a couple of months at every meal. Then try eating 90% of what’s on your plate. Replace that missing 10% with a filling vegetable or fruit like broccoli or a banana if you still feel hungry. Do that for 2 months. Add simple cardio like two 20 min walks or dancing each week. Keep cutting back on your portions every few months, drink some water at each meal. Your body will get rid of the existing weight and your stomach will also adjust to the smaller portions. I did this and lost 30 pounds in a year. I realized I was eating too much food and I sit all day for work so I had no way to burn the excess calories. So now I eat what my body will actually burn for me and help it with eating a little steamed vegetables, salads, & fruit from time to time. I go for 25 min walks when it’s warm out. I still don’t own a gym membership. I couldn’t believe it worked for me but it did. Try it if you’d like. This approach is low maintenance and you go as fast or as slow as you’re comfortable with. It’ll be easier on your joints too.

Look, I’m gonna tell you straight up, I have been struggling with knee pain during leg exercises ever since I got back to working out 4 months ago. It wasn’t that painful it was very irritated and irritating. I searched online in hopes you covered this topic. Found this vid and decided to try that along with a shorter band between my quads during squats. I am proud to tell you today’s leg training was the first training in 4 months where I experienced no knee pain throughout my workout. Engaging the hips at a greater level seems to have solved the problem for me. Thank you very much man, just know you are making a HUGE difference. Will now work on fixing those week hips everyday!!

Over the past 3 years, with your vids (and my own casual hobby of drawing anatomical posters) I’ve learned nearly as much as a PT student, and more! Thank you, i hope you earn a lot of passive cash from youtube because a lot of us athletes can’t afford the injury, let alone the consultation bill. People, especially athletes that rotate alot, often have femoral external rotation/abduction on one side and internal rotation/adduction on the other. In this case the core is the issue. It will seem as though their external rotators/abductors are weak on one side, but that's not necessarily true. Theyre just being stretched and unable to contract properly. You can try to strengthen the hip external rotators all you want, but it will do nothing until the core is addressed. It's an imbalance between the anterior and posterior oblique slings.

A few months later after suffering with bad knee pain, knee cap tracking issues, along with pt I started doing clam shells and the side leg lifts you mentioned every night before going to bed. Then tried the hurt side. Fatigue started at 12 reps and serious burn at 14. I got to 50 eventually. After 5 minutes of rest I could squat without a since, and my natural out-turned foot stance was less pronounced. Thais was immediate improved internal rotation of the legs from the hip. Thank you.

as a matter of fact, i haven't had any joint issues until about four days ago when literally all hell broke loose. i mean, all of a sudden my wrists started popping, my shoulders started popping, my elbows started popping, my knees started popping, my ankles started popping... just crazy. no pain mind you, just that annoying crack every once in a while. i'm just worried it will develop into some major shit if i don't do something about it. so right now, to fix the knee stuff, i started doing fifty Jane Frondas on each side and then fifty closed hip abduction reps per leg. you guys think it will help? or maybe just popping isn't anything to be worried about until it starts hurting?

I haven't been working out for about 6 months now after losing roughly 20 lbs. I've been having horrible knee problems (mostly my right knee) just from regular walking and standing up. It has been eye opening watching this video!!! I had no idea what was causing the pain and just figured I had weak knees and being overweight was making them more sore than normal. Well, now I know what's causing this!!! I did the test and did about 20 leg raises on my right leg and didn't continue because I already had my results LOL. Then when I started doing the workout (which I'll be doing daily now) I could feel the burn again. Thank you so much for helping me figure out how to correct this issue!
