Pacers didnt help the Knicks with that Siakam contract. Does OG want 40 million a year?

1. Siakam was an all star. 2. Siakam plays 70 games a year. 3. He led his team to the ECF. OG is not on his tier. The siakam deal shows us that OG can’t command but so much. No team is paying someone max money and they don’t play 60 games not named Curry Embid Davis or Leonard. Period.

Not really, RJ didn't live up to his expectations so ridding ourselves of his contract was important. IQ on the other hand was looking for a contract north of what Leon was willing to offer so moving the two was the right move regardless if OG resigns or not.

I think Begley misunderstood the question. The contract extension more likely to happen is of course Thibs. Brunson could leave almost a $100m on the table.

Knicks need to make the Paul George or Mycal Bridges trade happen they need another ball handler and wing defender and shooter badly.

Knicks have to draft Isaiah Collier at #24 and Ryan Dunn if he is available at #25

The Knicks do not have to sign OG, we are still well structured to compete with or without OG or iHart. The Knicks can find players that can replicate what the aforementioned players provided. Understand that OG has shown a tendency to get injured plus he's not a number 1 or 2 on any team, so paying him 35mil is overpay for an injury prone player, I would extend an offer of 25-27mil a year for 4-5 years and if he refuses I would move on from OG.

OG is arguably the best defensive player in the NBA. All he needs to do is stay healthy.

@@joeyvast you don't pay top dollar for a defensive player, simple as that...those types of contracts that he's seeking is reserved for a one or two on a team, a player that can go both ways and is a shot creator. Again, OG is very good defensively but he provides nothing more to the team.
