Excuse me, in another places I've read that you can't carry knives below 6 cm without justifiable reason as well. Also blades above 15 cm are forbidden completely. You didn't mention that daggers are banned. Only Japanese style swords can be collected. On Wikipedia, scissors and any other blade are equaled to knives and have almost the same rules. Is there a place where to read these laws?

@@kylefromjp I read Japanese a bit. For those who don't it's a tourist trap and not only with knives.

I honestly think that the ENTIRE "sword abolishment act" during the Meji Restoration was STUPID. The ONLY reason they did it to begin with was to try and get rid of the Samurai class and to be better able to subjugate people so they wouldn't have a weapon to fight back with. And its EVEN DUMBER that you STILL cant carry a katana today. I mean here in America you can walk down the street with a sword on your hip all day long and cant no one do anything about it and yet we DO NOT have people going around getting into sword fights....LOL.

Honestly I think you are right, part of our freedom has been took away. And it is quite sad we can’t even buy a gun in here…..good day!
