Yes, GEC uses recessed domed pins more often than not. Some of your other knives (not just the 43) appear to have them as well. It may be the preferred aesthetic, and there are also practical reasons - with uneven surfaces (like the natural bone on your 86, or the jigged finish on your bone 49) it is often impracticable to manage a flush pin, and in the long term some cover materials (particularly natural ones) can change size slightly, which could 'expose' a previously flush pin whereas a recessed domed pin will accommodate it.
@אלכסס-ח5ג2 жыл бұрын
Thank you ! He was refering to me i told him that. There is a discusion about the pins being like that on blades forum from a few years back.

I believe some knife aficionados like to refer to the bolsters on that #6 Templar as ‘barn hinge’ bolsters. Templars are the sort of ‘strange child’ of the GEC production runs…rarely produced compared to other models. The #48 Templars in the 2011 run were so vaguely popular you could still find them from dealers three years later. For me the Caribbean blue is the more handsome preference of the 2019 run, but I do also enjoy the Crusader Red version…the ‘little red?’

Like the clean background. I started going with less clutter and no stickers. As for the collection, nice haul. I’m kinda like you when it comes to the single blade for traditional. Still like traditional when it comes with a modern flair. Mostly cause I can get a knife from Finch, CrKt or Kershaw. I won’t jump through hoops to get a GEC even though I would like some one day.
