@LMarshall32 Brother Destructo! Thanks so much for the very nice comment! I am happy that this video was helpful. I agree - it doesn't really help you pick one over the other because they are both so cool! The good news is, you really can't go wrong with either. These are two excellent knives and it was a total pleasure to compare them. Thanks so much for watching!

I have both and love them equally. The 300 is a beast of a blade, really built to take abuse and last. The 350 is my EDC, it will fit snuggly in the small inner pocket on a fair of Levis. Shop around! There are decent prices, got my 300 on Ebay from a Power Seller for $147.00, super deal. The 350 came from Cabala's for $130.00. Backed by a lifetime warranty and free sharping for life, you just can't beat these blades.

Thank you for the very kind words! I try to give the people what they want, and I appreciate the positive feedback. The 0350 is a much more practical knife for me. You get something very tough and capable, made with good materials in the USA at a reasonable price. The 0300, while totally cool, is a little bit too much knife for me... if there ever was such a thing. Thanks again for stopping by, very happy to hear you have been enjoying my videos.

BladeReviewscom, Nice video and you've got the voice, tempo and no nonsense cut to the chase style that people want. I decided on the 350 after your review because it appears it would be easier to carry and price point. The 300 is dbl the price of the 350 so it should be twice the knife imho. The frame lock is a plus but the beefy liner lock on the 350 should suffice. Not hating on the 300 just think the 350 would be a better fit for me is all. Thanks again for an outstanding review.

@BladeReviewscom One other one I'm bringing if Pelton gets them done in time is the HEST 2.0 Left Hand. I'll probably try to find a couple more to bring. I'm NOT bringing a fixed blade this year. If you buy a machete in country for $5 you don't need a fixed blade but you need something smaller to cope with tasks that a small blade is better suited to. I'm half thinking of bring along my Dukes of Hazzard era Buck 110 just to see whats up. S Florida can still be pretty jungly

As always, great review. I'm not a big fan of the Ken Onion designed ZTs. You've got to get the 0550 or the 0551 if you can land one. IMO far better feel than the 0300. The 300 series just seems clunky. Even the speed safe feels like its laboring to get the whole blade around the pivot. And the recurve is more just a matter of preference. Anyway, I expect the 0550 to be your next blade to test. You're whipping out these reviews like hot cakes! Great stuff! Keep up the good work Dan!

@BladeReviewscom Oh man. Houston! I interviewed for both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery residencies there. I couldn't bring myself to rank it very highly either time. I did like Good Company BBQ though - certainly in my top 5 BBQ places in the US. The Adamas does look interesting. I haven't handled one. The only Benchmade I have is their first offering in assisted openers. I had another BM but traded it off for a BK3 this fall.

@1710274a oh sorry! I missed that. I think the 0300 is better in hand because it's a bigger knife. But the 0350 fits my hand really well too. I was surprised at how nice of a fit the 0350 is. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with the ergos of either knife. Thanks for the great question and sorry about the confusion!

@805coach Straight blade. S30V can take a very nice edge and it holds it well. With a little practice you can maintain a very nice edge without a problem. I'm generally not a fan of partially serrated blades.

Man now I am gonna have to get a 350 as well.
@Bladereviews13 жыл бұрын
@nicuyliapco Mine really wasn't that slow, but it's a much bigger and heavier blade. If they used the same spring it would simply be an issue of force = mass X acceleration. If the spring is the same and the mass is higher, your acceleration will suffer. Just a theory. Thanks for the excellent question.

@MakingMasterClass Steve, these are excellent knives. Made in the USA, ultra fine materials, very solid construction. You really can't go wrong. Now the 0777 is just incredible. It's like something out of a movie. Owning one of those would really be something else! You have excellent taste man, if ZT is what you like I hope you find the occasion to treat yourself to one. Thanks so much for watching. :)

Both is always the answer. I got the 0350 about 2 months ago. It is such a great little knife that I just had to order me a 0301. It's in the mail now, I doubt it will be too big as I have big hands & I carry a BM Adamas sometimes as my EDC. I do have a question though, why do most knife nuts dislike the partially or fully serrated blades? I get a ton of utility out of these & always go for one if the option presents itself. I'm just curious about the serr. Blade issue. Also I do love in the big Urban jungle of Houston so I always EDC 2 knives plus a Surefire light and one of my Glocks, either my 19 or 26 in 9mm.
@averageiowaguy13 жыл бұрын
@BladeReviewscom Yeah. The 350 looks more classic Onion - more like my Random Task (original, first run) than anything related to the Zero Tolerance line. As I understand it, there has been some shenanegans between Kershaw and Onion, none of which I understand, and as a result Onion will be playing less of a role. I could have that ass-backwards though. Anyway, the list of bomb folders going to the Amazon in May is:\ 1) Sebenza 21 2) ZT 301 3) Strider SnG 4) Spyderco PM2

I got the 0350 in Carbon Fiber because fuck yeah Carbon Fiber (and it's for EDC), but I might get a tiger stripe titanium 0300 in the future because fuck yeah titanium and tigerstripes (and that'll be a combat folder).

@classof77 Hey man, you make an excellent point. Looks like I really dropped the ball with this one! Unfortunately the 0300 is long gone so a re-shoot is gonna be impossible. You are totally right though, I completely missed comparing them closed and a comparison of the opening would have been cool (especially because the 0300 is much easier to deploy via the thumb studs than the 0350). I have a couple pictures of the two closed for a future blog post - if you want I can email them.

@CalviNNation The stonewash would be nice, I especially like that composite blade version.
@nicuyliapco13 жыл бұрын
i have both of them, bought the 300 first, then bought the 350 as well for a slightly smaller size hehehehe, was wondering why the deployment of the 300 is slow
@Bladereviews13 жыл бұрын
@averageiowaguy You know that is an excellent point. The 0350 is not a Ken Onion/Strider Collab, it's just a Ken Onion design. I will say the 0350 is still a pretty stout knife. My understanding is that ZT/Kershaw made the 0350 in response to complaints that the 0300 was just too big. The 0301 would be very interesting in the Amazon, I hope you manage to catch some footage of that!

@nicuyliapco heavier blade on 300is the reason it doesnt deploy as fast and they probably didnt change up any power on the open assist with the 300 from what it is on the 350 my guess : )

The 0300's are going for $500+ nowadays (if you can even find one), and the 0350's are available for no less than $150. Still two of the best pocket knives of all time (IMHO), even 12+ years later.

@Bladereviews13 жыл бұрын
@pyaoliang Py, the 0550 or 0551 is on the list! I have handled a couple and I totally know where you are coming from, especially when considering the 0300 - it's such a big heavy knife w/ a big heavy blade! I'll be scoring one for review eventually (probably a 0550 - maybe both?). I've had some free time on my hands so I've been takin full advantages crankin out the vids and stuff - when the sun shines, that is the time to make hay. ;)

@averageiowaguy Yeah apparently Onion jumped over to CRKT for reasons I don't quite know myself. That is a nice little list you got going there. I'd be curious to see how these folders hold up in such humid and harsh environments. I'm in S FL, so it's sorta humid, really nothing like the jungle however so it should be really interesting.
@nicuyliapco13 жыл бұрын
@BladeReviewscom must be the blade size, try to deploy them and see how much slower the 300 is from the 350, my 350 isn't here yet, but ive seen one deploy... 300 is just slightly slower i think, and yea it's the blade size
@Bladereviews12 жыл бұрын

@Bladereviews13 жыл бұрын
@averageiowaguy A Hest 2.0 would be cool too! That new Benchmade Adamas could also be interesting - it's got D2 steel however so I'm not sure how well it wold hold up (but I guess that is kind of the point, right?). Yeah S FL does get its share of heat and humidity, but on the coast it's not as bad with the ocean breezes and stuff. Beats the hell out of living in Houston (my old residence) - now that is an urban jungle!

One other thing to consider, the 300,301 and 302 are a Strider/Onion collaboration. I'm not sure about the history of the 350. To me, the 350 looks about like most of the other Kershaw offerings and much less like a true 'Zero Tolerance' knife. I wish they would put the cheapy 'Zero Tolerance' 350 into the 'some tolerance' brand instead of diluting 'Zero Tolerance.' After seeing your review, I'm glad I ordered the 301. I'm supposed to bring a few knives to the Amazon, 301 being one of them.
