I watched this review before and didn't really have any reaction to it one way or another because I never held a 350 before, then I finally held and got to play with one, Holy Cow, what a knife! It's friggin perfect! The weight, the size, the flipper action, the balance, everything, it feels like a solid block of purpose. Seriously, you're giving it grief because of the weight?? Unbelievable!

I couldn't agree more. The Delica 4 is a world class blade. I've used the one shown in this vid for firecraft more than once. Most of what some manufacturers sell as hard use is marketing placement, not reality. How the Delica performs in real world cutting is a good example. It does just fine. But if a mfr can convince you that you need to carry a 8 oz knife for "hard use" then he's achieved success in his selling.

Nutn. The VAST VAST VAST majority of us here on TNP (90% I'm willing to bet), Don't go around hauling an Eberlestock, an M4A1, sidearm, spare magazines, and other field operational equipment alongside our folders for our EDC systems. Most of us are simply looking for an well built quality folder to add to our collections. As a person on the street with my phone, flashlight and folder (I'm Canadian... :( no gun), i couldn't give less of a flying fuck if my ZT350 weighed 5.8 ounces or 3.0 ounces. It's honestly not something I can feel at all. What you said about "lightening up whenever you can" might apply to our fine men and women in uniform out in the field, but i'm willing to bet again, that the VAST VAST VAST majority of ZT350 owners are people like myself. When it comes to weight, you literally make a mountain out of a molehill. You can't be "unstoked" about this awesome folder when it might be 2 ounces too heavy for less than 10% of us.

I think anyone who is considering purchasing this knife should get off their computer right now and go find this knife somewhere in town. Yes, it's heavier than most other EDC's. It's also what sold me on it the moment I held it in my hand. In terms of beefiness, it's just right. I am a skinny 19-year-old male and it is absolutely not too heavy for EDC whatsoever. I think you will appreciate it's ergonomical design, large blade, and of course, the large frame molded with the crimped grip areas that fits perfectly into the average sized hand, making for a very sturdy design. I would trust my life with this knife.

I EDC a ZT0350, I can't argue that it's heavy but I don't mind it. I used to carry knives with 4" blades when I lived in Oregon but when I moved to Colorado I limited myself to 3.5" just to be sure I wouldn't have legal issues. I had to search around for shorter knives that still filled my hand and the 350 is perfect for me and fits all my requirements.

I don't carry lots of gear but I carry a fairly large cell phone, several keys, a wallet, a knife, often a gun, maybe my e-cigarette, some coins, and whatever else I might need on me at the moment. I'm a minimalist and I try to keep everything as simple and light as possible while still remaining functional. Ive minimalized everything I carry. If I can save a few ounces here and a few ounces there and still remain functional I will certainly do so. Why not? It just seems to make more sense.

I think the 0350 is a perfect edc option. I carry one everyday. OK, maybe not perfect out of the box. What was wrong? Well the jimping on the blade tore holes in my pants, so that was rounded off. The blade shape was awkward to sharpen properly so I removed the re curve portion entirely. The handle was also a little bulbous, and I didn't love the aesthetic, so I re profiled it as well. (took off the camel hump behind the lock) With all that it's probably down to 4.75 oz. lol. Now it's much better for me and gets carried instead of sitting on a shelf.

Nutnfancy.... I'm a huge fan of ZT & Ken Onion. However, I'm in different to this knife also. I would agree, that the metal liners on the knife should be milled out. However, 5.8 oz isn't a big deal. If you stopped carrying around so much unnecessary edc everyday. You would realize 5.8 oz is nothing to worry about.

Informative Review, Thanks. But I don't have a problem with the weight of this knife, In fact it is one of the reasons that I used for an Excuse to purchase it and spend more money than I ever had before on a knife. I have a tendency to put things down and forget about them and not notice they were gone, I figured this would solve that problem, being that I would miss the weight. WRONG. After a couple hours you don't even notice the weight. But I guess it is all what your personal preferences are. And I'm certainly no tough guy, 5 foot 4 female. ANYHOW…without a doubt the greatest knife I've ever owned and I may be Canadian but I'm proud to say my Knife was WELL made in the USA.

Thanks for all your reveiws, Most people don't have the time to get out and put there hands on every single knife out there. A few minutes of waching your reviews saves a lot of time when in the market for a blade. As a EDC I've pretty much stayed with cold steel or benchmade for the last 15 yrs, Any knive I don't still have was lost, stolen, or now belongs to one of NJ's finest. That being said every knife I still have is working just fine, after years of heavy use (including occasonal throwing). a little over a year ago after someone decided they liked my benchmade Barrage more than I did, I replaced it with the ZT0350. Eveything about the 0350 was perfect (after I repositioned the clip). There is no unconfortable way to hold that knive, it's slim enough to fit snug against you when carried and broad enough to facilitate a firm secure grip in strong hand or reverse grip. Ambidexturious thumb studs and the flipper make it possible to deploy in any situation. The spring assist (although illegal in some states) and the rock solid liner lock turn the 0350 into a reliable backup with a flick of the wrist. After just a year the assist became weak and movement sluggish, so as I do with all my knives at somepoint, I pulled it apart to clean and oil it. when I removed the scales the entire outside face of both liners were completely rusted and pitted. I would expect tthis from a $4.99 harware store knife but not from a $150 knife. Will it still work? yes Will I buy ZT again? probably not. sounds like they could solve the weight issue and the corrosion issue by switching to milled titanium liners. but then expect to pay a whole lot more.

I have the knfe. I hate the blade shape as it is hard to sharpen with stones due to curve. The worst part of knife is that it opened twice in my pocket and cut my pants wide open. the blade will deploy very easily in my opinion. It needs a lock like the Kershaw scallion in my opinion. Blade is razor sharp and it is quality but I wont carry it. It also cut me once in my back pack as it opened and I reached in and cut myself. I will never carry it again in any manner.

Your're showing too much bias too some weight. This knife was built to last longer, steel liners and g10 are better than cheap thin plastic. I'd rather have the thicker blade that a thinner one. My bmw is many many times heavier than plastic junk on the road today, and its safer. The weight makes it safer and stronger. Do an abuse test on each knife in the same manner, abuse them till they break, see which one lasts longer, than make the claims you do that weight is a gimmick selling point to ZT fanatics. I'm not a ZT Fanatic nor even own this knife. I like knives like eickhorn phol one's which is similar size to this ZT. Weight when it comes down to an ounce or two should not make a difference. I can understand if a knife needs to fit in a spot on your person or other place and must be of certain dimensions...but weight? come on, do some pushups,

It's nested between the scales and the liner. The reason they're aren't milled from factory is because if that torsion bar snaps it could fly out and either A) damage the blade or B) hit someone, or something else. In either of those cases Kershaw is loosing money fixing the damages.
@davidreid421111 жыл бұрын
a milled out liner wouldn't effect it to my knowledge. Every kershaw/ZT I have is just a torsion bar that is nested into the handle scale, not the liners. Since the bar simply slides across the steel liner, milling it out wouldn't effect it in any way. In fact, I did a similar mod to a Kershaw Scallion

Heavy in comparison to some, but for the regular person who doesn't carry around fifty different items, it's fine. The slight extra weight is worth the quality and strength you get from some of the best production blades available now.
