Thanks for another nice video from the Swedish west coast. The Joker Nomad knives are great heavy duty companions. I have both the 5 inch and 6,5 inch versions. Both of them handles better than you you expect for being such heavy and thick. The nicely designed convex make them more versatile than you would expect. They are also very well balanced. I think Joker gives you more quality and bang for your buck than any other knife maker. They are on par with my Fällkniven knifes.

Excellent video! I have the larger model of this knife with the 6.5" blade and like it a lot. It's one of my favorite big knives and your video highlighted its strong points. What a fabulous channel!

I have the Nomad 6.5, and I love it! I see no reason to think the regular one isn't just a good, minus 1.5 inches in blade length. Joker never ceases tom impress me with the quality of their knives vs the price they go fo.

Thank you again for an awesome video. I would be interested in your general experience about your favourite grind form for feathersticking. Convex, scandi or "industrial". Maybe you can compare this directly with similar wood? p.s. if there are more caps to win I would like to be part of the raffle.

I got the 6.5 a month ago. It’s my first convex and I love it. Dropped it on concrete that gave it some small chips I sharpened out but it’s good and scratched up now. Made 3 nice mallets before I needed to strop it. Got one coming for my son. Looking at BR Bravos next but all of these and the Nomad are so damned pretty I’ll think I’ll stick to my skrama 240 and 1110 puukko.

thanks for another entertaining and informative video, what I'm wondering is why have you gone from liking convex to preferring scandi? Is it because of the ease of getting extreme sharpness or something else? interesting to hear as there are so many who go directly in the opposite direction, scanndi first and convex fan later.

Great question!! Sitting here in the forest discussing and trying to formulate an answer. Well like you mentioned, getting this amazing sharpness is one part of it. Besides that we think is also period based actually. We have more scandi knives compared to convex or at least the ones we take out in the field. Scandi grind and feathersticking is sort of stuck in our brains and it can happen that we get this “wow” feeling again with a convex knife and use more convex again. Other point is that the LT Wright Illuminous 5 is our top favourite knife for now and it has a scandi grind. Hope this answers your question. Bit time based but not written in stone.

@@westcoastbushcrafters Thank you for the answer, I fully agree, I am also ambivalent between scandi and convex, I love my Fallkniven A1 and F1 but can't get them as sharp in the edge as my scandi, for example Castroms Lars Falt, so I understand exactly what you feel and have mixed feelings :)
