Have you ever used chain saw files ? I know this is video is about dremels , great video thanks . Using two chain saw files together side by side to get the spacing ? I jave found that using them you get almost perfect spacing . I really like you technique and I just replaced mine yesterday so I will deffinatley try it . Thanks

Love the tune playing, man. Did you do the work while it was annealed before hardening it? what kind of material?
@GAN369
@GAN369 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, this was before heat treat otherwise far more difficult when hardened. The steel was 01 tool steel.

@@GAN369 What dremel bits did you use to do this beautiful work? If you have part numbers of the bits it will help me out a lot, thank you! I'll be working with an already hardened knife that I'm adding some customisation to😎

Is it difficult to hold the same angle on the dremmel so that they match, or no?

+Nash Stinson Try ebay for best prices and search for Dremmel multitool this will bring up a number of different brands. In my opinion the Dremmel is the best one, its solidly built and given me many hours of service. Good Luck.

How do you glue the scales, without getting the jimping full of glue? Loved the video, keep them coming.

Telmo Brandao, the whole idea is to fill the handle areas file work with a contrasting colored epoxy. The same epoxy used to attach the scales.

He'll probably mix some powdered black paint into some epoxy and fill in the gaps it makes it stand out a lot more and lot a whole lot better

what type of bit are you using? is it a diamond bit or just carbide?
@GAN369
@GAN369 8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment, they are carbide in the beginning and diamond towards the end.
@GAN369
@GAN369 8 жыл бұрын
Sorry, correction, I was thinking of a different video, they are diamond bits I used on this video, doing the amount of jimping I did on this one the carbide wouldn't have lasted very long.

Was this pre heat treat?
@GAN369
@GAN369 5 жыл бұрын
Yes before heat treat, as I'm sure you know it would have been twice the work if it had been filed after heat treat, thanks for your question.
