Tell you what I really like about your channel, which I only just found. Your content is spot on, which is obviously a plus. But what I appreciate also is that you don’t come out of the gate trying to be cooler and hipper than all the others. Straightforward narration, without affectation, is always a plus in my book. Thanks for your work and your expertise.

Brand new to the knife world and trying to learn as much as possible before buying a few started knives. I was wondering if you have already done a video on types of steel, I often hear this type will hold an edge better or this will last longer but I am unsure what the exact pros/cons are and how the different types stack up against each other in performance/durability. I would even appreciate just a website or company that you think does a good job of thoroughly and correctly explaining the differences. THANKS!

I can definately recommend Gerber armbar. I've had mine for a few weeks now. The screwdriver is awesome and I haven't had any problems with it being not lockable. Action of the knife is quite awful though. It is stiff and the hole used to deploy it is next to useless.

Victorinox used to make a Yeoman. It was two layer with Phillips screw driver that opened parallel to the blade. It was awesome that a thin knife had scissors, corkscrew, can/bottle opener/flat head driver, main blade and phillips driver. Better than compact and spartin

Hello D.C.A., Thanks for the info on the convex edge sharpening, as I'd always wondered about that especially when nobody else that I know of has covered that. I think that Worksharp has come out w/a pocket concave sharpener, is it a good choice?? Take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 👍👍🙏🏻😇👊 P.S.: I'd been asked by my Chiropractor what I was going to do for this 3 day weekend and I said that I'm at the recognized poverty level and on my income I can't do much of anything!😢 I then mentioned that I'm soooo poor that "I can't even afford to pass gas, that when the urge hits I'm only able to destitoot" (for those who are a bit thicker: "Destitute"!)!!!🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 He really liked that one btw, it's when my head sees or hears something, 10 sec. later I'll find out about the joke, that's just how it works. Every now and then they have to be reworded, but all of which are repeatable!!! Better that way. L8TR!!!

@danielwendell542
@danielwendell542 3 жыл бұрын
I'm a bit loathe to put most of my knives through one; most either remove a slice or material to sharpen and have fixed blade angles that I don't agree with. I would toss a stone in your bag, use the diamond dust file on a Leatherman, or get used to sharpening on other things you may have like ceramics or a belt used as a strop. Edge maintenance is key!

Question: what is good about tanto blades? Is there any task where they are the Best?
@Surago
@Surago 4 жыл бұрын
Dude I love them for everything. You get two tips. I like using the 45 at the two edges to open packages and you can use the smaller side edge for scrapping. And of course the main part of the blade for any close detail work. You get a fine true tip for poking or detail stuff. They are great edges and at first I liked them for their design until I was sold on belly’s on knives but seeing as how I don’t need a belly for anything in my edc tasks I went back to tanto and I don’t want anything else.

Why aren't there more knife center exclusives in orange? It's hard finding even moderately popular knives in orange, let alone a bright orange. The manix 2 is a dream knife for me so when the Rex45 came out I was stoked and finally bought one, and hated it the second I saw it in person. The orange scales on the rex 45 Manix 2 are more of a brown than a really bright orange, which is super disappointing for me as someone who loves orange. Would love to see more knives with orange handles and black blades!

@@knifecenter I would argue that statement is inaccurate, if you search on knifecenter.com for "knifecenter exclusive orange" you'll see that you do offer some high end production/semi custom offerings in "orange" and a couple of pens but the only truly orange exclusive you have is the aegis and the real steel. When I say I want to see more orange, what I mean is plain blaze orange handles with black coated blades lol if I could get an Ontario rat 1 or rat 1a, a PM2, an Osborne, pretty much anything in black and orange I'd buy it! It's just such a hard combo to get from the factory cause only weirdos like me want it for some reason, and unrelated but I hate serrations as well lol
