I have the equivalent copperhead from Marbles, and it's definitely the prettiest ersatz tortoiseshell I've come across. The colour is strongly reminiscent of Cooper's Oxford marmalade, which is to say a bit darker than yours looks on screen.

I think it's widely believed that Rough Ryder and Marbles made in the same factory but to me the Marbles Tortoiseshell always looks better, I don't have a trapper not a pattern I like however this particular knife is one I wouldn't mind owning. 😁

Tobias, I just got in the mail about an half hour ago the RR tuff stag scout knife. Ever thing work as it should. Looking at the cap lifter, do you know did RR fix the cap lifter ? it seems larger opening.

does anyone know when rough rider went from the horseshoe emblem to the R-reverse R or do they still use both?

The back to back RRs came around about 6 or so years ago. You will still find some knives made with the Horseshoe as depending on the blades used in the knife. There is talk of using some of the older tang stamps in future releases. We'll see.

You were trapper tempted with tortoise shell.. No, I am not a fan of trappers because they often don't have a half stop and that long skinny blade can come back on you. I find them dangerous. This one is different though.
