Good looking Copperhead.

Looks very nice and boy it has a loud snap to the blades when they close. I guess an all stone covers fits the StoneWorx name better without abalone and pearl. 🙂

I like the color scheme on that copperhead because the yellow goes along more with the original stoneworx colors.

100% agree with you there. The stone alignment is also superior to that of the Hawkbill!

I love that western jade Navajo look in a knife . I used to purchase lots of jewellery years ago when visiting Arizona and Nevada. I still have a money clip , knife pairing similar to the one you are showing.

I don't have any of the Stonneworx knives, but I do appreciate you sharing. Just because I don't collect them does not mean I can't enjoy the them, otherwise. Thanks again, Tobias

Thanks for watching. And 100% agree. These are not for everyone. More than one person has told me they are way to gaudy for a pocket knife. And I get that.

Not got a Stonework and certainly like the look of them, wish they did single blade.

@@KnifeChatswithTobias Yes I don't buy knives I can't carry now, maybe RR will do some more medium toothpicks which would be good.

Looks great. I do like a copperhead, though I only have 4, a Zwilling and two Bökers, all made by Böker Solingen, and a stagbone Roughie.

The middle piece could have been abalone and that would heve been nice, but as is, it looks pretty awesome to me. Fit and finish is great, blades line up nicely, no bilboarding or R on the bolster and an upgrade on steel. More reasons to want this series. Thank you for showing it Tobias.

Agreed, a Pearl Or abalone center would have been great!

This one goes on the wish list. I like the stones, especially because they left the pearl out. I do get tired of red, white and blue, and that soft yellow looks great with the red and blue. A little abalone would have been nice, but I do really like it as is. And, like you said, a very useful pattern.

I like Pearl or abalone accents but this one does look good as is. They also laid out the stones nicely. That’s half the battle.

That's much better - it looks more of a piece than the hawkbill. The absence of the big R automatically puts this range ahead of most of the RRs on sale in the UK for me ... that's why I don't have a white bone copperhead but maybe they'll have a change of heart.

I agree on the pearl/abalone. It is what makes the knives. Still a nice knife though.

Having just gotten the Stoneworx Congress for my very first Rough Ryder Stoneworx knife, I think I'll make this my second, as I am a fan of Rough Ryder's copperheads! Thank you very much for the review!

Beautiful knife. The hawkbill was nice but I really don't have a need for that style of blade. But then again, I've got a cotton sampler and I'm not about to become a Victorian era cotton merchant anytime soon.
@KnifeChatswithTobias

No doubt this is a more practical knife. I would've preferred a cotton sampler over the hawk.

“Variety is the spice of life”, they say. I like different Stoneworx finish on this one, it presents a complimentary contrast to the older style stones. No big R is another bonus to enjoy. Thanks for the great review.

This is the best looking copperhead from rough Ryder I think . I may get one . Wish it had pearl and abalone. We will see .

This one reminds me of the 2 blade peanut from the old Stoneworx series, though I think overall the colors worked better there as the vibrant red was more prominent. I do think it would have looked better with pearl over the yellow stone, which I believe SMKW labels agate. Will probably skip this one too, but I am looking forward to your review of the canoe and the muskrat, if you get them. They're the highlights of this new series thus far, in my opinion.
@KnifeChatswithTobias
@KnifeChatswithTobias 2 жыл бұрын
If they are calling this Agate, they are a little off base. Agate and Jasper are both types of chalcedony. The difference is Agate is translucent where as jasper is opaque. As you can't see through this stone, it is hard to call it agate in my opinion. I haven't bought the new canoe or muskrat yet but they are on my list. They will be reviewed in a few weeks.

@@KnifeChatswithTobias Well that's good to hear. I wasn't sure if you intended to get all the knives like you did with the old Stoneworx series or not. Looking forward to the reviews!

I can break anything...so I've been told often. If I get one of these I'll have to let you know if and when. lol Copperheads have become a favorite pattern but I might just wait and see if they offer one with the abalone in it. Thank you Tobias, nice review.

Good review, it does bother me some that all the stones are the colored style and no abalone or pearl. Otherwise looks pretty good and nice steel upgrade. Thanks for showing this one, definitely of my favorite traditional patterns.

Not bad, but I do prefer look of the Pearl/abalone. I’d like to see a whittler. I had a Coral Snake, but returned it as it had issues. I was also not fond of the appearance once I had it in hand.
