I met Catherine Hickland here in Vegas and she was just a sweetheart. She had a KITT with her and saw me staring at it and asked if I would love to sit in KITT. Needless to say I jumped right in, got my picture (no charge) and I couldn't thank her enough.

Funny facts about cars in this episode. The Lotus Esprit design was created by the italian designer Giorgio (or better, Giorgetto) Giugiaro, who is the "father" (always talking about design) of the DeLorean DMC-12 and.... did you know guys? He's also the man who made the styling of the... VW Rabbit (born as VW Golf in 1974 here in Europe).

And I'd love to know if the Lotus Esprit in this episode is the same one used in James Bond - For Your Eyes Only released in 1981. 🤔👍

Michael plays an Aria Pro II XX Deluxe Flying V style guitar in this episode with a maple fingerboard. This is quite a rare guitar! I have seen many rosewood fingerboard models come up for sale, but the maple ones are hard to find. I almost got one a short while ago but it was in rough shape. MK obviously likes the snappy response of maple over the warmth of rosewood!

Michael struggling at the end not wanting to let Stevie go again was moving. And once again they made sure to set up a major turbo boost just as in White Bird. I'm glad they did the 3 episodes with them. I'll have to watch the blind drive spin again as I forgot about that aweseome stunt

I currently have both of the songs Hasselhoff sang in this episode along with some of his other songs in my music library on my phone and jam to them when they play on shuffle. Not even the least bit ashamed! 😁 Edit: I will say this, I honestly believe Hasselhoff has a good singing voice, BUT not all the songs he's performed have worked, or even sounded good. That is not the case with the songs in this episode however, these are some of the good ones.😁

Check out my extended list for this White Bird Trilogy Part 2 episode: 0:06 David Hasselhoff's fantastic singing during the years of Knight Rider 2:29 I definitely love the first working title Dream Life because it brings that glamorous feeling to it. I can tell also by how the Class Action vans looked. Periwinkle blue color with sparkles on the fonts. 3:13 I Googled this Rock Poster Magazine cover, and it is on Ebay today. It only says '83, which was a year before Let It Be Me. 4:05 This flashback of the love montage between Michael and Stevie were from the events of White Bird. 8:05 The binary code Michael finds in Stevie's apartment, which April will decipher in a moment. 16:22 The Universal Amphitheater was not only used as the location of Michael and Stevie's live concert, but back in 2013, it was also the location of the Wizardly World of Harry Potter attraction site. The building may be still here today. 19:35 The Volkswagen was used in two episodes - Colored yellow in Let It Be Me and colored blue in The Nineteenth Hole. 21:54 Let talk about code breaking now. In the Topaz Connection, Michael was helping Lauren Royce decode the file on Topaz by entering the 6 digit access code 36-24-36 which involved a specific drug. In A Knight in Shining Armor, Michael and KITT decoded the woman's locket with her father's picture that showed an ingenious military army grid with ten coordinates on his deeper right eye, which was the location of the crystal cavern. And now in Let It Be Me, we have a rather organized medicine delivery schedule, as Devon guesses it is, hidden inside the binary code. If only KITT would've done this, then it would be really something to starve for. 22:35 This Lotus Turbo Esprit is identical to 007's Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me. The White one in the water, the red one on the road. Looks like this duo may be siblings. 23:42 I liked how I heard in the background of Devon contacting the DEA while April deciphers another code that KITT gives her. I noticed something on this code: SD for San Diego, CH for... Whoa, the country code of Switzerland? 23:51 When Michael stops while singing, he says to KITT "Good. Gimme a blackout." Then sings again. 25:15 Michael and Stevie's song in the background, only in instrumental version.

To The Knight Rider Historians, There were some nuggets that was left out. For instance, that album, "The Knight Rocker", was produced by Joel Diamond, the man who would later on married Knight Rider's S2 co-star Rebecca Holden. Also, that Burgondy Red Lotus would appear again on S3 episode of Knights of the Fastlane, and it was driven by the late Elaine Welton Hill, who played Nikki Ladonna as she was chasing Michael with it at the Sargus Speedway in which he had asked her what's the e stood for? And not to mention, The Universal/Gibson Amphitheatre, sadly got shutdown in 2013, and demolished that same year. Now in its place there's a replica of Hogwarts Castle.

The only episode that I saw a model which such detailed undercarriage. So! Nice work Joe and looking forward for the season 2 finale. 😎

Hasselhoff can't sing, but all the songs worked in this episode and I enjoyed it. My extreme favorite part of this episode is KITT jumping over Michael and Stevie. They jumped that car a lot and most are pretty darn impressive. But throughout the whole series, there were a little over a handful that are just incredibly awesome, and this was one of them. They captured Stevie's look about KITT's jump perfectly. Of course anytime they show a shot of the view of what a car looks like jumping over top of you like that is exciting. I have a 1971 GTO, and I used to jump it, so I know the adrenaline rush from doing those stunts. Of course I didn't want to destroy my car, so I found roads that I could land on a decline to keep from warping things beyond repair. Went through some springs, shocks and bushings in those days but to have all that power at your control and to go into the air like that is almost an addiction. Well for me, my friends have mixed feelings about the way I used to drive.

This was one of my favourite episodes. I also have a confession: I own that CD. Well, I own all of them, bar the "best ofs", of which DH did many! Most say Looking for Freedom was his best (it def made him the most money, and was "that song" for Berlin. But look up 'Crazy For You' (not related to Madonna's song). Now that is an 80s song (and video) if ever I heard it. And yes, I have the original. I really like the Now and Then locations too. Always loved that stuff. And when you see how close it is to another scene from a different Ep. I did find it odd how they got in the car to do the video for the song, and "the band" are way back at base. Who is listening to them?! Those videos are recorded with a bit of playback thru a speaker from a tape/CD. Not from a little band in the middle of a desert. haha. Cheers.
