I too was the same. I recorded it on my VCR when I was at school. Then watched it when I got home. I even modified my trike with a stereo faceplate to emulate K.I.T.T.s dash.

i had no idea this didnt appear until season 3. i thought this change happened when the original KITT voicebox, with the single square red light was changed for the later, better known 3 rows of red LEDs! ive learned something today!

Should have put neopixel LEDs in there. Then you could have had any colour effect you wanted. My only thought as to why not is perhaps that deviates from the 80s round through-hole component aesthetic. Still, a version using neopixels and programmable effects would be extra cool!

Not once have I ever knowingly thought about KITTs accelerator pedal and you put this together and tell me there was two versions in the show (stock and lighted) and yet now I instantly recall that been the case! Wild what information gets stored in our brains as kids and decades later persists. That been said I doubt lights on the accelerator (gas) pedal will ever take off...what with us tending to be looking where we're going!

The main purpose is for car shows and to complete a screen accurate appearance. 3 different demo modes have been added to display it during shows.

Absolutely amazing! I feel like the LEDs from these replica pedals fit the prototype with the three colors that are a bit more squared, the LEDs on the pedal used in the show were a bit smaller and rounder.

The prototype light up foot pedal I remember seeing in a special behind the scenes in the 80s on TV. Now, I might be misremembering that but, seeing it does bring to mind a memory of something just like that. I had always thought there were colored lights down there growing up. Again, I could be misremembering this but, I feel like I did see it on a TV special back then.

That lighted pedal looks very well done indeed...definitely plan on getting one for my car.👍 The model kit...most people paint there models.🤨 Because the molded color plastic just doesn't look right, hence the interior is the wrong color....and the dash and overhead parts are part of the interior, that's why they are in the interior bag. As you where looking for it I was sayin' there it's in the interior bag....no ..that bag...no not that one this one...no over there ...that...oh boy.🙄🤦‍♂

Very cool pedals, the audio on the prototype is definitely a different tone, both look cool.....you could argue if you ever get a screen used K.A.R.R that prototype pedal could go in that.

looks very nice and very identical to the series . using a internal gyro is a very good idea, I supposed at the time they used an analog VU that read the position of a potentiomètre, this solutions it's easy to integrate :D

Very cool stuff in this episode, awesome gas pedals and nice KITT modelkit. That multicolour gas pedal looks interesting, and makes sense too, green for the light press, red for the high speed demand. KITT's gas pedal was in a way another futuristic part, which kind of has become reality Gas pedals in modern cars no longer have physical connection to the engine, it's now electronic. Maybe the leds are kind of telling the throttle body position sensor data, easier for Bonnie to see it directly from the gas pedal while calibrating KITT, than use a scantool :D Very nice models too, certainly would be interesting to see you build the 1st season KITT model. I have the 4th season normal KITT and SPM KITT modelkits by Aoshima, and the LED scanner unit for the normal mode KITT. I think it's very accurate miniature scanner with all-on effect at startup and nice trailing effect too. PMD seats, at least the headrest arch looks a bit inaccurate, and there's a mistake on the 4th season dash lights next to the voicebox, one side has correct 5 holes for lights, but the other side has only 4.

I thought Kitt was fuel injected? If so then it should have been relatively easy to either A. tap the throttle position sensor, or B. get a throttle percentage from the ecu...

Watching the pedal in action, I am wondering how functional it will be in a car. When you press the gas pedal, the pedal doesn't really tilt it just kinda lays there unless you press the upper part of the pedal. Either way it will still be cool just to have installed.

I have a vague memory that they had people sitting inside, so surely that wasn't just a double exposure of two car photos being cross-faded? That gas pedal looks fantastic! HOWEVER... is it supposed to be wireless and rechargeable or something? If not, I would love, LOVE to know why it was designed with the USB input ON THE BOTTOM!!! That seriously makes NO sense at all, imo... unless I'm totally missing something. The USB input should be on the top so the cable can be ran along the pedal's metal mount. With it on the bottom like that, it looks like it'll be easily broken and it also doesn't look right with a cable sticking out.

People in Miami ain't laughing now. Aoshima I've always heard pronounced as OW She Ma and they're a great source not only the various season KITTs but an accurate Airwolf as opposed to the AMT stock Bell 222 interior and Airwolf parts on the outside as well as the Blade Runner Spinner ( if they'd do a Blue Thunder they'd make me a happy man) as well as other movie/TV subjects. Due to a change in box art I inadvertently picked up a second season 3 KITT so as it stands there's going to be an Aoshima KITT and either stock black or two tone KARR joining the AMT KITT and Airwolf on my display shelf.

The model kit may not be accurate, but then again, it's still a better closer representation of any KR vehicles than Aoshima has previously done (IIRC, they did the FLAG Semi truck and trailer. They got the truck right, but the trailer was grossly incorrect).
