Great videos and channel. Since you made this video, I would suggest that you look up Gualdim Pais and the Templar order in the foundations of Portugal. I think it would be a good video to do. Thanks for your videos;)

@@barbatvs8959 Yeah but if it was not for the Spanish knights and their brave battles for Spain there would be no christian Europe to continue the battle for the Holyland. That is why the Pope told the Spanish to hold the front in Spain or all of Europe may have been lost to the Muslims.

I recently found your channel and I must say, God bless. Thank you for this wonderful, comprehensive ressource of a channel. It's very enlightening and much needed. I have a question, maybe someone can help me out: You refer to the Templars as Orthodox, but it was my understanding that they were Catholic. I could be wrong, but I feel like I'm missing the point of what you are saying. Is there a video that adresses this (or some other resource)?

I appreciate your videos very much, but I’m deeply surprised that you are not aware about the crucial importance of the Templars in the formation of the oldest Iberian country; Portugal. I guess you now that Spain - as a nation - was in fact formed much later. About the importance and influence of the templars in Portugal, you may investigate, and easily find that the impact of the Order is so deep that even the county could be known as a “templar nation”, and later, when they were extinguished they manage to survive in here under a new name: The Order Of Christ. This new organization would be of crucial importance to start the age of discoveries, and the spread of the european knowledge and values all over the world.

Was Portugal once Spain or Spanish? It broke off of Spain? Does that mean Portugal/Portuguese people are indeed Hispanic just like Spain is Hispanic?
@LuisAlvesFerreira7 жыл бұрын
michael cristian No, Portugal was never Spanish. Portugal is an older nation than Spain who is in fact a "union" of other smaller "nations" like the UK. In stead of Wales and Scotland, you have Catalonia, Castilla, Galicia, etc. From the Iberian Peninsula Portugal is the only that has been able to kept his independence.
@michaelcristiancrow7 жыл бұрын
Luis Alves Ferreira Ok cool. So Portugal is not Hispanic, but Spain is? Thanks for the important info.
@txibiam61177 жыл бұрын
"Hispanic" is a very controvesial word. Hispania was the roman's name for the Iberian Peninsula and that includes Spain and Portugal, so in that sense both would be "hispanic". Portugal was ruled for some decades by the kings Philip II, Philip III and Philip IV of Spain, but you could say they were different kingdoms ruled by the same monarch. Although the americans (US) use the word "hispanic" usually referring to the ethnic "latino" (confusing also because the latins were the original romans/central-italians), prominent in south and central America (although that "ethnic" is actually a mix of different ethnics) in that case neither Portugal nor Spain would be "hispanic". Quite confusing xD.

They didn't actually happen in Spain. The King of France was the only monarch who persecuted them. After the Pope dissolved the order, the Templars in Spain peacefully joined other orders.

ROMAN CATHOLICS ARE NOT CHRISTIANS. porque.. ELEVATES HER MORE THAN FERTILITY GODDESSES BECAUSE A QUEEN OF HEAVEN HAS MORE POWER THAN OF A MERE ASPECT OF NATURE. Te lo digo como español que ama el Imperio español aunque odio lo malo de él. I SAY THIS AS A SPANIARD WHO LOVES THE SPANISH EMPIRE BUT HATES THE BAD IN IT. Y vivo cerca de Filipinas. And I live near the Philippines. :-)
