"HISTORY HIT" apparently isn't too concerned with actual history. The red maltese cross of the Templars doesn't mean a snake or Jesus is a snake or, was a snake worshipper. Here is the actual definition which makes sense if you know anything about the Templar historicity, and NOT fantasy movies/novels ~ The Red Cross of the Templars IS "a symbol of martyrdom" ~ The red cross that the Templars wore on their robes was a symbol of martyrdom, and to die in combat was considered a great honour that assured a place in heaven.

It still brings a smile on my face hearing speculation & invented idea's about the Templars & Freemasonry is alive and kicking. The realism a group of good hearted men can gather to enjoy a ancient order's rituals, eat a nice meal and apart from the National Lottery the Craft raises more money for charities in the UK than anyone else, is lost on so many people hoping for a more sinister story.

Here’s what I’m thinking. They split into two groups, one went to Croatoan to wait for White because of the drought and the other started traveling into the mainland to site X as planned. The second group was picked off by unfriendly natives and all but 7 were killed on their way to site X. Eleanor chronicled this on the “Dare Stone”. Hmmm, this might explain the creation of the Order of the Dragon in 1408 to fight the Ottomans in the name of Christianity.
