Pretty awesome videos. I've wanted to be a truck driver since I was in grade school. However, Ive been a Police Detective for the last 28 years. I retire next year and am looking into a second career as a truck driver. So, at age 53 I'll be able to do what i've always wanted to do! LOL Take Care and be Safe!

Anthony almost said, "Training Troops" lol. You can tell he was a Sergeant in the service. :)
@sine-nomine5 жыл бұрын
A couple of questions: 1) How long are you riding with a trainer? 2) Are coed trainer/learner teaming against legal rules, company rules or just frowned upon? Or why is it not a possibility? 3) How does that point-system mentioned in the last part of the video works?

Knight is a good company but as with all companies there is good and bad. My husband's dispatcher made his life hell. Did not have the time of day for him, had to fight for 75% of his detention pay. His dispatcher is the reason he left Knight. But it put him with a company that he is very happy with.

So here’s a question for drivers. I’m 20 years old and it’s been my dream since I was 2 to drive trucks and start my own trucking company. I’m in school now to get my CDL( I will be 21 before the end of the class). I’ve been reading heavy into articles and it’s got me really concerned. They seem really content with these self driving vehicles even though it will nothing but harm the economy. 3 million drivers without jobs, truck stop workers would undoubtedly lose their jobs along with fast food workers along the interstate and also hotel workers seeing as self driving vehicles never stop, I also read air plane companies would struggle due to more people being willing to just ride in the car doing nothing, body shops would be out of business(if it went how they say it’s gonna go.) etc. they want it in years, not decades and at the latest the beginning of the next decade. What are your takes on this? Do you think it will happen? Am I wasting my time with this even though it’s all I’ve EVER wanted to do? Quite frankly if I couldn’t drive trucks I don’t know what I would do. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. And personally the day I see one in a truck stop, I’m pulling his 5th wheel. 😂 but in all seriousness, what are you guys thinking?

When one of these giant land beasts has a malfunction and takes out car's full of families opinions will change about driver-less.
@matthewstrickland98205 жыл бұрын
Mr. Jebadia yeah I was honestly thinking the same thing, but my dad made a great point(he’s been driving 30 years). 10-15 years ago the trucking industry was vastly different, he said if someone would’ve told him E-logs would’ve been a thing 15 years ago he would’ve laughed in their face and said it would never happen. He said he hopes it never happens, but he wouldn’t doubt it at this point.
@SMOKINJOE28985 жыл бұрын
Not gonna happen, ask yourself this, who in the hell is gonna fuel up these trucks, who is gonna unload and load these trucks? Keep your mind set on getting that CDL and take EVERY endorsement test you can, even if you don’t want them because when i was in driving school in 1996 they gave us all the endorsement tests for free and if you passed them all, they’re yours for life but if you decide to not take it then later on when you want them then it is coming out of your pocket to pay for them so take all of them when they are free to you, don’t ever be afraid to ask other Driver’s questions and your instructors, that’s why they are there for, i’ve been out here 23 yrs, and i will help any driver out here. Good Luck.👍

Liquified Petroleum Gas Hauler appreciate the feedback man, I honestly hope the day never comes & I’m working on getting all of mine as we speak. I’ve already got my job lined up and everything I’ve just got to get this CDL training done. The only thing giving me fits right now is the backing, they say I oversteer it. I’ve already got my pre trip and everything else down pat. You stay safe out there though man. 👍🏼
@SMOKINJOE28985 жыл бұрын
Matthew Strickland you bet man, don’t get nervous while backing. Never press your gas pedal while backing, just let it roll backwards slowly while keeping the tip of your right foot barely on the brake pedal as a cushion and your left foot just touching the clutch pedal, whatever direction your back corner trailer is moving towards, you slowly turn your steering wheel in a in that same direction just a little bit and that way you will keep your tractor straight aligned with the trailer. ✌️
