I heard Origins was ten years before Asylum. I don't know maybe they changed it, but even then 10 years is still impossible. Maybe if they came back and said "forget what we said before. It was actually twenty years." then it might work, but even then you would have to ignore all references to the comics in the previous games and view the Arkham games as a completely separate continuity that has no relation to the comics what so ever. That might not be such a bad thing though since a team of good writers would then have the opportunity to reintroduce our favorite villains in new and unique ways.

Batman & Robin was and still is one of my favorite movies growing up. The Schumacher movies and the 1960's film was the first Batman films I was exposed to and it wasn't until later that I started to watch the Burton films and accept those as the true Batman movies.

Schumacher was basically strong-armed by the studio to make a campier Batman movie after Batman Forever turned out successful. That obviously didn't play out well and Schumacher has apologized on video for how bad it turned out.

I think in the Arkham trilogy Arkham Asylum is a prequel. Asylum didn't have an ending devoted to the series. It talked about the origin of Jokers death and such and it could stand on its own as a seperate story aswell, like the Star Wars prequel spoke of the origin of Darth Vader. They had to know they were making Arkham City when they made it to have the secret room with the Arkham City map connected to the wardens office. It had less direct connection, and nothing SUPER important happened really. I feel the same about the Hobbit. Sure it was published first but it didn't end with the saving of the world. It told the Origin of the Ring. Arkham City makes a better Origin point of its trilogy because it had an event that fueled the story of the sequel in a more direct way, whereas Asylum ended like it could have been any other night for Batman. Just thought I would propose that.

Also I just noticed something quite shocking when you get the XE suit all the attacks are the same and there is this attack were batman will do like a kick to the bad guys face but bit his chin with the front of his so it impales the bad guy with the knife on his feet and when he interrogates someone when batman is done he hits them with his elbow so it also impales them in the side of the head so he is killing them

I think that Schumacher didn't really care about the property and all he knew about Batman was the campy TV show. Also, WB and the toy manufacturers had a big hand in how the film was scripted and developed. He sort of just did as he was told. Batman Forever and Batmand and Robin were just intended to be nothing more than 2-hour toy commercials.

To play Devil's .....Attorney, I guess, Schumacher was under a lot of pressure from the studio to get the next Batman movie out ASAP so they could turn a profit on the toy line that went along with it. I believe it was only 2 years between Batman Forever and Batman and Robin which, if you look at how Marvel is staggering their movies now with an Iron Man and then a Thor and then a Captain America movie and then a new Avengers, what they're doing is giving themselves time, on each project to say, "No, I don't like the way that reads" or "No, this doesn't make sense." They're taking the time to try to make each individual movie good and sometimes, even that doesn't stop them from making a stinker like Thor: The Dark World. Thankfully, nothing they've made has been quite as bad as Batman and Robin.
