You are so clever, and a great inspiration, I will try this using DAK with both my Silverreed and my Brother :-)

Diana you are always so clever! Can this be done on a non-electronic Brother like the KH-891 using the HOLD feature? Thank you ~Page

Hello Diane, Thank you for doing this video on brother bulky 270 this is fantastic. Can you do a video on putting a hand knit pattern into the brother bulky 270.

Perfect! I had been wondering if there was any way to do this, thank you!

Off to figure this out on a Silver Reed with mylars? Perhaps using point cams? I don’t think bringing needles out will select for the second ball on a Silver Reed? But again, will try it.

I have not tried it on a Silver Reed, so please let me know how it works out. I believe it can be done, but perhaps manually.

Hi Diana! This is a great solution. I have a SK860 mid gauge and would love to know how I can knit both sides of neckline on that machine. Don't know whether you own one, but if you do, would it be much trouble to do a video on it? Thank you.
@SuperWigMaker7 жыл бұрын
Why would you keep two open loops int eh very center of the neckline instead of simply transferring them to their side like you do with short rowing all the other rows? And what are you going to do with those two open stitches in the center?

Very clever! For non-patterning machines would it be possible to use intarsia to accomplish thus? No doubt more "fiddley" but maybe still worth it?

Hi Diana - I have only been using knitting machines for about a year or so and have become very interested and have joined a local club in the uk - I see you have a knit leader attached to your knitting machine. Do you have any tutorials on how to use one effectively. I have one for my Brother and a built in one on my older Brother but don't really know how to use them or how to draw out a pattern to use on one - can you help? Peter

Hi Diana, I saw a russian vidéo in which for non electronic machines she pushes the left needles to D and not E. In that case I suppose it could be possible, using the select button on H to use short rows for shoulder . Is'nt it correct ?

Sure, I don't know why not. Hmm, idea for another video!

Hi Diana: what happens if you are doing a lace pattern? Can I still do this as a second pattern?
@dianaknits3 жыл бұрын
I have not tried that but I think it is possible with some hand-manipulation on every knit row. If you forget or your needles get out of alignment for a lace pass, uh-oh! This is intended for plain stockinette. Your best bet with lace is to use the memory key to keep track of where you were when you divided and knit the sides one at a time.

No offense to anyone but doesn’t this defeat the whole idea of knitting? A knitting machine seems so lazy, I’m a hands on girl. Didn’t know there WAS such a machine & seems, like HARDER….x
@dianaknits3 жыл бұрын
I am also a hand knitter, and enjoy it. The machine has a number of advantages including eliminating the boring sections of the knitting, offering a challenge, allowing for sufficient practice to develop expert finishing skills, and tracking very complex patterning. The most important thing for me, though, is the opportunity to be more creative and more productive. I can pursue all kinds of ideas and I can also knit large items quickly. Many days, I think of an idea and then get up, walk into the knitting room, and knit it right up. As I develop a pattern, I will often knit it multiple times until I think it is just perfect. That would not be possible if I were hand knitting.

@@Amberszone They are not well-known. I first saw them at the Los Angeles County Fair around 1970 and my mom and I were just blown away. I finally got one around 1975, and absolutely fell in love with it.

@@dianaknits Bravo my Knitting Queen. Greetings from France 🥰. In 1987 I was in a shopping center and hopped into buy yarn. Lo and behold I saw Singer and Brother Knitting Machines. As I had a Brother Typewriter and Sewing Machine, I got curious to find out how this Knitting Machine operated. The lady demonstrated, it blew my mind completely off at the speed she knitted 2cm😲. Was it going to be useful as I was a handknitter and will I make use of it!!! FF8900.00 to think about. The following day after a night WITHOUT SLEEP decided to buy the KH-894 punch card and got 10 lessons FREE. I also purchased the G Carriage for Ribbing. The verdict: GOT HOOKED and knitted over 10 sweaters A WEEK for my 2 year old with the different punchcards patterns and thus continued. Knitting for my only Grandson of 10 years. NO KZbin FOR TUTORIALS 🤣😁. What a timesaver ! Cable Knitting I do by hand. Thanks for sharing caring and making me SMILE 🥰🌹👍👍👍💕💕💕
