Enjoyed your video. Love your crochet top. Can i ask what colour the wild carrot gives and the purple loosestrife? I have both and am enjoying natural dye process with different plants. Your dye garden looks great - mine needs a major weeding!!!!

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. Wild Carrot makes a lovely pale green whilst Purple Loosestrife makes tan and greens. I have taken out the loosestrife however, as, although not classed as invasive in the UK, it can take over the garden somewhat, which I do not want. I have planted Hedge & Lady’s Bedstraw in its place.

Lovely vlog Helen and your dye garden looks wonderful, such a beautiful spot😍. I look forward to seeing your new Autumn shades too, was hoping you’d be at Yarndale. Never mind will have to look online. Best wishes from North Wales, sitting in the summer house ……in the rain🙁❤

I live on the coast in Maine USA and loosestrife isn’t allowed to be sold on the east cost states as it’s invasive. But it is lovely

Hmm, well I might have to rethink this plant in that case. Don’t want it taking over the garden. Thanks Linda

Hi, what a beautiful garden! And i love the crochet top, made from squares❤. Can i ask where do you get your madder plant from ? I have been trying to get madder seeds for my new dye garden , but unsuccessfully. I live in Ireland. Thanks

Hi Micheala, thanks for getting in touch. I got my plants from a local grower. Hope you can get your hands on seeds somewhere near you? Sorry I can’t be of more help.

What colours of dyes do you get, and which parts do you use in Wild Carrot and Purple Loosestrife? They are considered very invasive here in Canada, so I thought it would be fun to use some of them in fabric and yarn dying.

@@sew_So_beautiful hi, thanks for your question. I use the leaves, stems and flowers of the plant. They both yield greens and yellows. I have since dug up the loosestrife as I didn’t want it to take over the plot!
