Using the mohair is such a great idea for us girls with wavy/curly hair because I think it would be really soft on the hair and not damage it as easily!

looks like my boyfriend will be getting a handful of cute, custom scrunchies! he has the most beautiful head of wavy hair but he has to wear it up a lot for his line of work, so he's always using a very plain and boring black scrunchie. he'll definitely love some pretty variegated yarn! thanks for sharing. :)

Wow, I loved this video. I pretty much immediately cast on a scrunchie with some plum mohair and dusty aqua wool I have leftover from different projects. Kind of reminds me of a blueberry pie. To even further reduce crafting waste, a great idea could also be to start knitting swatches that could be easily turned into scrunchies later on. Bonus is that you could have a matching accessory to your larger project!

Wait the swatch thing is so smart!!

I love this video. I have been making scrunchies for almost a year for my family, friends and kids. You have taught me a new way to seam the tone and I thank you for that. I have played with colors and striping and checks, but not mixing fibers or using mohair. Thank you!

So happy to hear that! I definitely see a lot of scrunchies in my future!

Wow! Thank you. I've been looking for quick gift ideas and scrunchies are my favourite 'find'. Plan to make a few over the next 3-4 weeks. For friends and for me !!!! I really like the idea of using two yarns of different colours. The possibilities are limitless once you get the hang of it, I'm sure. Have a great Holiday Season !!!!

Hey Bethany! That was really fun, I think I'll give it a try! Just wanted to say that it would be fun if you did a small Q&A; when did you start knitting? What were your first projects? How did you learn to make patterns? Do you have a full-time job or are you a professional knitter? etc...
@WellLovedKnits3 жыл бұрын
Aw Julie, that is sweet of you! I have done a Q&A before - if you haven’t already seen. Maybe we can do another one soon😊

i would want to try it with a provisional cast on and kitchener the seam shut.. that way there would be no seam.

I'm definitely trying this method next time. I recently knit a scrunchie in a tiny 22 stitch tube on 3.5 mm DPNs and it took way more than 1 hour lol. I was thinking about doing it sideways instead of lengthways but wasn't sure about the larger seam. These look good, though!
@annabelle71233 жыл бұрын
The scrunchies look really pretty on your hair colour :) I love the colour mix idea! The blue mohair one looks too big for the hair though, it could even be a hair band/bandana perhaps? But it looks really soft and lush :)

Hi!!! For the giant blue scrunchie, did you use a longer wire? Did you use magic loop??? I’m a new knitter and only have a long cable so was wondering how you did the tube! Thanks in advance 🥰
