This knit time lapse shows me knitting a pair of knee high socks for my Stuart Weitzman boots. They are toe-up basic socks that go perfectly with over the knee boots. I didn't use a pattern, but instead a tutorial that covers all the techniques. Link is below.

Totally agree about the slipknot!! I always knit socks cuff-down to ensure nothing rubs or bothers my toes. Using kitchener to close the toe essentially creates another row of knitting (the end result looks like continuous fabric) without leaving any type of seam or knot. Happy you found something that works for you!

There’s definitely benefits to both approaches :) For toe-up socks, I like that I can try it on before it’s complete. For cuff-down, I like that it’s a simpler approach to knitting socks. Thanks for commenting!

I love how the socks turned out! And what a beautiful sweater dress, it looks so amazing. Wish there was a pattern for it, great job!

Oh thank you! I just knitted a basic top down raglan for the dress. I used this approach so I could try on the dress and make sure the length was right for me. I hope this helps :)

I would totally unravel it, for me the whole point of knitting socks toe-up is to avoid any seams around the toes

Thanks for another inspiring video. I am of similar height to you, so knitting and sewing skills are a must for me to make clothes that fit. Or adjust my store bought items. I would unravel the socks too, especially if you can make them more comfortable without the knot. I like my knits to be to a certain standard too. Not perfect, but fits well and the fabric is what I wanted. I have been known to frog whole garments if the fit or fabric is not right because I know I wouldn't wear it and it's a waste of lovely yarn.

i love these socks they way i think about the unravelling is whats the point in spending all that time making something if you won't wear it in the case because it hurts your toe. or in my case the dropped stitch in my sweater will bug me if i didn't redo it.

Yes I would always unravel. If not I will probably never wear the item!

I could never take the tour knot either. I'm like the "Princess & the Pea" when it comes to something on my body, under my body, over my body, or just at all in contact with my body. If two it, too.
