Stacked increases are just a lot of increases worked on top of each other. It's not too complicated, but you'll have to slip stitches back (SB) to create the stack. It may feel like you're doing the wrong thing at first, but you'll see in the video how the SB stitches look. You'll find instructions for the red swatch shown in the video below in case you want to follow along.
Swatch instructions:
CO 21 sts using the long tail cast on method.
Work a few rows in garter stitch to stabilize the swatch.
Increase row: K1*K1, [KYOK, SB2] x 3, KYOK, K5, rep from * 4 more times. (61 sts)
Bind off.

Xandy I have started Fox Paws several times and cannot seem to get the correct number of sts. If I follow the directions for row 2, I cannot figure out how to get 28 sts. I have to be counting the Uparrow 5 or the S2KP incorrectly. I have gone back and looked at your videos, but still cannot get the correct number of sts. Please help. Thanks so much! Al in SC

I bought the pattern on a Ravelry. I have the first set of increases ok But the second set don’t line up correctly What could I be doing wrong? Is there a video or print of the second Row set?

I decided to try this out on utube before I took your class, but I consistently ended up with holes at the base of every lobe. What am I doing wrong?

The holes are normal! They're a lot more obvious if you aremmnt working in a stripe pattern, the color overpowers the holes and textural inconsistencies. If you are also seeing loosened in addition to the holes, you may want to size down your needles. Loose gauge can make the holes worse. The yarn you use can also affect the holes. Springy yarns are less likely to get a big hole. Drapery yarns will cause the most problems.

Thank you for so generously sharing your ingenious techniques! I love to expand my knowledge and knitting skills. I will definitely try this! By any chance, did you study engineering or math in college? (This new knitting technique suggests that you did. ;) )

I studied industrial design. It's a field somewhere between art and engineering. The design processes that I learned in school hace definitely influenced my knitting. I try to create and refresh knitting techniques in interesting ways, so it is great to hear that you are enjoying the process of learning.
