Jonna, I just love the kovua sweater on you! The colors you’ve picked out look great. And the size fits you so perfectly, and you didn’t swatch? Wow 🤩. Can I ask, how did you learn to strand knit? What was your first project that you learned to strand knit? I’ve never done it and am intimidated by the whole process. I too am new to knitting, for about three years. Thank you and I am really enjoying watching you both!

Hi Yuet! I'm so sorry I didn't see this comment until just now. No I didn't swatch, but I had made the Soldotna (also by CH) so I had an idea of her sizing and fit. My first stranded knitting project was a Pokémon ball for my grandsons! It turned out terribly! I would just say to practice like anything else. I like Kristin's (Voolenvine Channel) video on stranded colorwork. I've tried holding one color in each hand and also two colors in my left, which I prefer. Just jump in and try it! ~jonna

I see the mistake once you zoomed in but would have left it too. Easy to say as I'm unpicking a ribbed cuff. Why do I tell myself "one more row" when I know I am over tired? Oh well. Christmas knitting for me was all about hats. I made up 2 pattern with limited success then used 1 pattern to make 4 different hats & another pattern to do the last one & now i am making up handwarmer mitts to go with it. Once 4 rows of ribbing get finished, the 2nd will begin.

I, too, am a fairly new knitter, a fairly crafty person, and a crocheter who was always interested in knitting but never had the confidence to begin until I watched Fruity Knitting. I watched all the episodes, grieved when Andrew died (even though I was watching it a year late), and once I reached the end of the Fruity Knitting episodes I needed a knitting fix! I have been skating around various knitting podcasts/vlogs/shows/episodes - whatever they're called - but none have felt right. None were 'me'. Knit Together with Kim & Jonna is the right fit! You two ladies are beautiful, your friendship is beautiful, your knitting is inspiring, and I am thankful I landed here. Keep it up and thank you!

What do you film on? Tablet/ phone or camera ? I really appreciate how you talk about the things you make prepare and methods. Its nice to know I’m not the only person who feels self conscious and will frog but if I do it again and read the pattern and still have problems I figure out how to fix my such count and make it a feature nor hope no one notices. On my case no one notices. They are blown away at my progression from piece to piece, but do not notice mistakes because no one I know knits. So sad. You are so lucky to have each other. My husband helps me figure things out math wise he’s very much better at math than me and better at followings patterns However, being retired from all that not halving any knitting friends near me, sucks. I live in a rural area of Spain and have no LYS or local knitting friends, so these videos are so much fun for me to watch! Jonna, I'm sorry, but I did notice the colorwork "reinterpretation", but that can be our little secret (and the green distracts the eye anyway!). Kim, the layette sets are gorgeous - beautiful stitch definition on those cables (good call!). My Christmas knitting includes garter rib sweaters for my sons and lots of wool hats for their college roommates (in MA). Great job, ladies!

Carmen - We’re so happy you’re enjoying our videos! And yes, Jonna’s little colorwork mistake(s) just give her sweater more personality. Wow! You’re doing a lot of Christmas knitting!!! We hope you finish all of it in time! Happy Knitting! ❤️ Kim & Jonna

Hello from the west coast of Canada. So glad to have found you two. And it's fun to hear you talk about Westchester and New England, where my U.S. born grandfather's family lived for a century! Thanks for you sharing your family with us in photos and on the videos. I'm madly trying to finish a couple of hats which will be Xmas gifts for my grandchildren.

Just found your podcast on the Ranunculus episode and am now watching another episode and love it! I have only knit 2 pairs of socks as I find them too thick when wearing them in my shoes. You are inspiring me, though to start knitting socks again! A friend suggested to address the 2nd sock syndrome to knit one section of the sock and go and knit this same section on the 2nd sock. If you do this for the whole sock, section by section, you will have 2 finished socks at the end! It means having 2 sets of sock needles but it is worth it!

Great idea! We just filmed a sock minisode and it will air this Friday at 10:00am EST. I even mention you (but not by name) in the video. I talk about how you don’t like to wear hand knit socks because they are too thick in your shoes. So thank you for commenting!!! ❤️ Kim

Another fun episode! I am a solid fan of the heel and gusset also. I've tried many different ways but the heel and gusset just fits me the best. I'm also a big fan of knitting things two at a time.....socks, sleeves, gloves, hats, mittens....but I have not yet done sweaters two at a time. I'm intrigued though. Will have to give that a try. Beautiful baby knits and adorable grand kids!

I really want to try to knit TAAT socks! I bought a really long circular so that I could try. Now that I am proficient at magic looping, I need to give it a go. Especially, since we all know now, that I am not very good about taking notes while I knit. It would be nice to have a pair that are exactly the same! Thank you for you sweet compliment on Kim's LO's. Jonna

We still make multiple mistakes in every single project. The question always is, to leave it, try to "fix" it, or to rip it out, and that decision depends on many other factors. But accepting that mistakes are an inevitable part of the knitting process is an important step toward knitting happiness. Thanks for watching and commenting! ❤️K&J
