this has got to be the nerdiest knitting video I've ever seen and I'm here for it

I should have bought one of this card knitting machines 😅, mine is an older version and I cannot do something like that. Watching that video I envy you. You are very good! Congratulations, thanks for sharing your knowledge, I felt a bit lonely when I started learning old machine knitting. Those videos inspired me! 🤩

I was entirely unaware of anything arduino to go with knitting machines, but I really shouldn't have been surprised that there is. Once my inherited KH830 is back in working order, I'll be looking at sorting out arduino control for my 965 (bought for a song). I'm very new to machine knitting, although I've always been fascinated by the machines, and I'm absolutely loving the learning process.

I so wish I could do what you do with programming...

I actually went insane watching this. That said, I fixed my insanity with BEER. I am now reprogrammed for part two!

the solenoids are not located in the carriage. they are located in the mashine itself. it's also not the part of the carriage you show in the video, that's relevant for preselecting the needles.

Yup. I'm still learning about how these things work. I'll make an update video on this soon!

Why not, rather than detect what is being used, tell it what is being used? 3D print a new top piece and just put buttons or switches for the carriages.
