I'm so glad I found you! Maybe you can help me. I have a Studio 700 in great condition, clean. For some reason it looks like it's not releasing the loop. I can make 3 rows that are piling one each other and that's it. Please, help. Thank you

please check the carriage settings. "stitches piling up" is a description of the tuck technique. Confirm your carriage is set to "plain" knitting. Check your manual.

Is there a mid-gauge machine somewhere on the market that has a regular stick-like sponge bar?

Yes, there is a new mid-gauge machine currently being made by Taitexma. It's a metal bed machine with a "regular" sponge bar. AND A RIBBER! www.knititnow.com/store/product/783/taitexma-mid-gauge-th-tr/Machinedetails

How big of a panel can you make? Can you make a size Large?

Using any knitting machine, we are limited to the number of needles on the machine. The LK-150 has 150 needles. The widest piece you can knit depends on your yarn and gauge. We have a tool that helps you determine this. www.knititnow.com/tools/howmanyneedles.cfm Just enter your gauge and how many needles you have available.

I looked on Amazon and they range around $450-$650
9mm and 6mm refers to the distance between the needles on a knitting machine. 9mm would be a US size 13 hand knitting needle, although a 9mm bulky machine can knit a wide range of yarn weight with the equivalent hand knitting needle size from approx US 8 - 13. Please visit www.LearnMachineKnitting.com for more information about knitting machines from a hand knitters perspective
