I couldn't find new needles for my old Singer LK100 and I contacted you recently looking for replacements for it and you said the needles for the LK150 are the same. I bought 2 packages of 5 needles from you. You were right! They are the same needles exactly. LK100 owners need to know that, and I want to thank you for your help and sharing your knowledge. Also, I want to tell machine knitters with old plastic machines that J.B. Weld for plastic is the epoxy that will work on broken pieces on the machine that I've tried. It will hold! I 've fixed the broken fins between the needles on the bed, built the rail back up where the carriage slides after using it for many years and had worn it down, and I fixed the broken stem on my gauge dial. It looks like it needs a paint job now. I tried a lot of epoxies and only J.B. Weld for Plastic works. I have 9 knitting machines and this old machine is my favorite and it was fix it or let it go. I fixed it and it works like new now. Yay! 🤗

Scouring through all the videos I can find on knitting machines. Ultimately, I want to use my grandson alpaca on the machine and make hubs a sweater. This is not coming out as planned. 1. My yarn is too twisty. 2. The machine sticks or drops the work randomly. Which makes me swear a lot. It does it with regular yarn, too. It's kinda making me crazy at the moment. I took a break again for a bit from it, but it's kind of an obsession. I have lots and lots of alpaca raw fleece and sheep wool too. It does really bother me with the price of yarn how much yarn gets wasted. I priced yarn at Michaels craft store to make 3 hooded cowls and matching mittens and it was gonna be about $90 in yarn. That's hard when I can buy the cowl even at inflated.prices for $12 bucks at Walmart. So this "waste" yarn concept. On my budget, there is no "waste" yarn. It hurts to waste yarn. It hurts a lot.

As a spinner, I understand why the concept of "waste" yarn is difficult. There are ways around this. Remove stitches on a circular hand knitting needle to temporarily hold them or to turn and rehang. Create a cast on rag instead of scrapping on. The rag can be re-used and provides a place to hang weights.

Hi I have an lk150 silver Reed knitting machine and it wont function right it is difficult to push the carriage after 4 to 6 rows and gets stuck numerous times and pushes the needle onto the side but we can't find that the needles are bent and it is almost brand new I only used it for 8 baby blankets and it worked good for the first 8 blankets but now the ninth one it just gets stuck over and over what should I do to fix this issue and where do I have to oil the carriage

I suspect it the yarn you are using. Make sure it isn't too heavy for your machine. Many knitters report that they can't use Red Heart yarn on their Lk-150 machines

@Knit it NOW I will say that Red Heart Super Saver doesn't like to knit on mine either. Edit: For those wanting something like RHSS, try out Big Twist’s Value worsted. Seems to work alright for me since it’s slightly lighter weight, is softer, and is a little loftier than the dense RHSS so it should be able to love through the machine needles better.

I do not like the red heart yarn at all I only used the bernat 100% cotton l did oil the knitting machine in that was helpful

First time trying intarsia, I want to make squares blanket with different colors, what is the cartridge settings for it? I or II? Triangle or circle? Thank you

The I and II settings control the needles in "D" position for hold and short rows When the needles are in "B" position and the side levers are set to the triangle the needles will knit. use this for plain knitting When the Needles are in "B" position and the side levers are set to the Circle the needles in "B" will not knit - use this for fairisle (stranded) knitting Intarsia is an entirely different process Check Page 6 of your manual for details about the settings of your machine. hi there,,, Ive changed the sponge bar, on my LK 150 and Im still having problems with number 4 Bernat yarn, Im not sure what the tension dial or the antenna dial should be, and Ive tried every tension, and it still drops stitches, any ideas please?

Not all yarns "behave" with our machines. Please try a different yarn. Not all #4 yarns are the same

I have recently bought the Silver Reed LK150 and am having a major problem. I want to do my ribbing by hand and then transfer it to the machine, I don't like mock ribbing. It says in the reviews it's possible to do this but I'm stumped. There are no instructions in the manual and everytime I try, when I put the needles in C position to knit, my ribbing comes off. I'm at my wit's end! I have 7 jumpers to make for grandchildren and their friends and I don't even know how to get started! I'm used to a Passap that's 70 years old but won't knit 8ply (DK) wool which is why I bought this one, so I'm familiar with stockinette knitting, decreasing, increasing etc. Any help gratefully received.
