Hey all! Super great tutorial! I find following videos difficult, and couldn't find a written pattern anywhere, so I took the liberty to transcribe this video myself so I could have access to the pattern offline. The video is the source for all of this, and if anything I have written does not make sense then check the video for it THE RIBBING: With 3mm needle, cast on 95 stitches R1- sl st, then k1, p1 ribbing til end R2- sl st, then p1, k1 ribbing til end Repeat R1 and R2 until piece measures 7cm With 4mm circular needle, sl st first stitch, then knit 94 stitches from 3mm needle to 4mm needles. Cut the yarn, then knit the same ribbing on the 3mm needles BODY: With 4mm circular needle, place marker, sl st first stitch, and knit 94 stitches onto the second ribbing. Place marker at end, and join working in the round. Knit 95 stitches, and join for working in the round again. Knit until the piece measures 20cm from the cast on ARM HOLES: Undo 6 stitches Cast off 11 stitches Remove marker Knit to 6 before the next marker Cast off 11 stitches Remove marker Knit to end FRONT SIDE: Pick up the first stitch from cast off and knit it (see video for reference how) Turn work, sl st first stitch, purl all, turn F1: sl st, k2tog, k to last 3 stitches, skpo, k, turn F2: sl st, purl all, turn Repeat F1 and F2 nine more times, ending after F2 A1: sl st, knit all, turn A2: sl st, purl all, turn Repeat A1 and A2 until piece measures 40cm from cast on NECK HOLE: sl st, k23, cast off 16, k24 Sl st, purl all, turn FRONT RIGHT: B1: sl st, k2tog, k all, turn B2: sl st, purl all, turn Repeat B1 and B2 until you have 18 stitches left C1: sl st, knit all, turn C2: sl st, purl all, turn Repeat C1 and C2 until piece measures 50cm from cast on edge Transfer stitches onto a yarn holder and cut yarn, leaving a long tail to be used for the Kitchener Stitch FRONT LEFT: Pick up the first stitch from cast off Purl all, turn D1: sl st, k to last 3 stitches, skpo, k, turn D2: sl st, purl all, turn Repeat D1 and D2 until you have 18 stitches left E1: sl st, k all, turn E2: sl st, purl all, turn Repeat E1 and E2 until piece measures 50cm from cast on edge Transfer stitches onto a yarn holder and cut yarn, leaving a long tail for the Kitchener Stitch BACK; Pick up the first stitch from cast on (see video on details on how) Purl all F1: sl st, k2tog, k to last 3 stitches, skpo, k turn F2: sl st, purl all, turn Repeat F1 and F2 nine more times G1: sl st, k all, turn G2: sl st, purl all, turn Repeat G1 and G2 until back measures 50cm from cast on SEWING VEST STRAPS Slip stitches of one of the vest straps onto a spare needle Sew 18 stitches from the vest strap with 18 stitches from the back side, using the Kitchener Stitch Repeat with the other vest strap and stitches from the back side Place remaining back stitches on a stitch holder ARMHOLES: With the 3mm circular needles, pick up the armhole stitches. Ensure that you have even numbers (see video for technique) (make a note of the number to replicate it on the other armhole) Place marker, K1 p1 rib for six rounds, then cast off tightly. Cut the yarn and weave in the tail Repeat for the other armhole in the same manner NECKHOLE: With 3mm circular needle on the remaining back stitches, k1p1 til the end then pick up stitches from the neckhole k1 p1 for 6 rows. Cast off loosely COMPLETE Happy knitting!

To anyone planning on making this vest, I would recommend getting 6 balls of the Cotton drops Light yarn instead of just 5. To make it with 5 is cutting it too tight and its good to have leftover yarn for stitching up and weaving in ends.

@patriciaoyarzo17
@patriciaoyarzo17 Жыл бұрын

I‘m new at the knitting game :) Can I also knit your clothes with long straight needles instead of circular needles? I‘d have to buy circular needles with the different lengths and diameters but I have long straight needles in many diameters at home

For this tutorial in particular, it is needed having a set of circular needles, because you'll be working in the round, and straight needles won't give you that possibility. Still, it doesn't mean you couldn't adapt it, making two panels instead of a single piece, but that would require a bit more knowledge and/or experience. But don't be discouraged, there are plenty of beautiful tutorials and patterns out there that use straight needles, keep looking. Have a nice day!

@@handmadebyaura64 Thanks for your reply. Now I still don't how many sts to cast on. Because my gauge is 26sts x 34 rows (10cm x 10cm). It's much more sts and rows than yours. If I want to do like your tutorial, how sts I should cast on? Sorry for my bad English.

@@handmadebyaura64 Hi, because my gauge is more sts than yours so I think I will cast on 118 or 119 sts
