Knitting a hat for Jayne | Foolfly Season 1, Episode 2

Here's how it is: The cities got used up, so we moved out and terraformed our own shops. Some rich and flush with the new technologies, some not so much. Few of us makers formed an alliance to stand up against the changing times, among them myself. I'm Kaylee, mechanic of Serenity. She's a maker ship; Foolfly class. Got a good crew: fighters, pilot, we even picked up a preacher for some reason. You got a job, we can do it, don't much care what it is.

- thick yarn (yellow, orange, red)
- circular knitting needle that matches your yarn (mine was 5 mm)

Great video. I was informed after teaching myself to knit that it was left handed and backwards. Sounds like something I’d do. I’ll be glued to all the foolfly episodes for sure.

Haha, sounds about right. I taught myself from a book and did some pretty weird stuff before I figured it out. Pretty interesting how you can start with 20 stitches and somehow end up with 27 by accident...

I love crocheting. I've never learned to knit. I find it fascinating and it doesn't look like it's too hard. But my mother crocheted and my grandmother also and I'm just thrilled when I can make something cool for a loved one! Many blessings to you!

Yeah, I love that feeling of making something for a loved one too :) And if you can crochet, you can definitely learn to knit! The approach is very similar.

It really isn't! Just take it slow at first and don't freak out if you drop any stitches :)
