that’s such a good question! I go into it kinda knowing already that it might look a little messy I just make sure to leave long tails so if a tail does end up popping out I can tuck it back in or trim it :) i usually end up doing “duplicate stitching” so it blends in a bit better and also one last tip if you’re using wool you can felt in your ends with a felling needle so the fibers stick to each other (here’s a video to demonstrate: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6Wyc2CGr7OoZ5osi=Kw8UiGnNTH2XgrD2) the looser gauge will look messy no matter what just due to the tension being impossible to stay even! hope this helps :)
