how do people do this on silk scarves? do they use a similar needle? but that means already putting holes in the scarves already. Is there a special needle that pokes a hole cleany while pulling the fring material through at the same time?

I have a scarf that I cannot get to lay flat even after blocking. It has a garter stitch on the outside rows and up the middle, the rest is stockinette. Help please! I don't know if it's because my tension was too tight or is it just this pattern. I resorted to using heat as it is a gift that I need to have ready.

This is a great video but my pattern calls for 'single strand fringe." Errr.... how does one apply single strand? I imagine you don't just tie a knot, right? Those tend to come undone (in my past experience...)

+nozomiwhitewolf - you work the technique just as I demonstrate here, but instead of cutting several strands and holding them together, you just use one strand of yarn.
