Because of the clarity of your videos, I have tried (and accomplished!) knitting techniques I never would have attempted. You are my go-to teacher for all things knitting. Your slow motion videos are greatly appreciated by this visual learner.
@stephanier93643 жыл бұрын
I am so very thankful that you did it so many times in a row specifically so we wouldn't have to rewind. It makes it very easy to practice without interruption and I haven't seen many other knitting tutorials that do this. Very clear instructions and easy to follow along. Thank you so much!
@jenniferfairall858411 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for the slo-mo!! I'd watched 5 different demonstrations, including your regular speed one, and just couldn't get it before this.

I have been knitting for 19 years. This is the third cast-on I know know now, thanks to you. I appreciate it.
@lucillereilly3 жыл бұрын
Wowza! I already do this CO, but learned it another way, from a book. The book has this method,too,but I struggled to follow the instructions.. Gotta try this now; it should be faster! For anyone who needs to see this yet slower (I did), click or tap on the gear icon at the lower right corner of the screen to enter KZbin settings and you can change the playback speed. I also turned off the sound; the video alone is clear enough. So great that the stitches go on and on and on to really get a feel for how-to. Thank you!

Your videos are so invaluable, thank you so much for the time that you put into creating them. It was you and the Knit and Crochet today show on PBS that taught me how to knit seven years back now, and I STILL refer to your back catalog of videos for help. They and you are terrific😊
@lonnieappleby62425 жыл бұрын
LOVE THIS! I especially love that you are doing the last part “through the loop” instead of bending the thumb down, because I’ve been doing it this way for awhile and was hoping I wasn’t botching it. Also, I LOVE the slip knot instead because now I do not get two stitches to try and join in the round on my itty bitty “0” sock needle! THANK YOU! You are my go-to gal!!!!
@anandersonnovel3 жыл бұрын
So TRUE… it was the whole twisting of the thumb thing in other KZbin tutorials that had me flabbergasted 😳
@jenniferh25753 жыл бұрын
Exactly how I felt. I watched a few others and they were great but I couldn’t get the thumb drop part, this explanation made more sense to me, pull it under the bottom loop on the thumb. I can accomplish that by loosening up my index finger

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! If this was a VHS tape it would have snapped because I had to stop, back it up, and watch it again so many times. Love your videos and your honesty when you mess up. Ooops!

I am left handed to but I seem reverse thing in my head. My only problem is I do the longtail and this backwards and magic cast on back wards so the purls face out side.

Thanks Very Pink! I’m a new knitter and have been following you for the last year. I like the way you present stuff in slow motion. It helps me understand the rhythm and it reveals the “dance steps” to me! Knitting has become my working meditation. I’m still at the cotton washcloth stage. My wife is at the creative sock/ sweater/ camisole stage. But I’m happy with my progress making stuff with no mistakes and good enough to give to friends and be proud of my work and not make apologies for the amateur skill level.

@Annie_Annie__ Жыл бұрын
So glad I found this! I tried 2 or 3 videos before this and just could not get it. You could tell that the knitters in the other videos could do this in their sleep and had trouble slowing it down enough to explain it. I totally get that, I’ve even been there when teaching friends to crochet, but it’s really frustrating being the beginner wanting to say “woah! Woah! What did you just do there?!” This, I think, is a great work around for that issue. I’m definitely going to be coming back to these videos

It helped me. I only had to rewind once. The main thing is to not give up. If it isn't working keep trying until you find the one thing you are doing incorrectly and change that. Sometimes it's just one tweak and the whole thing comes together!
