Knitting: How to: Knitting Cables without a Cable Needle.

This video is a short tutorial about knitting cables. Knitting Cables without a cable needle is effective and easy and eliminates the need for a third needle.
The pattern repeat in the round/circular knitting:
9 stitches wide by 6 rows
Row 1: p1-tbl; k1-tbl; p1-tbl; k6.
Row 2: p1-tbl; k1 below; p1-tbl, k6.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 three times
Row 6: p1-tbl; k1 below; p1-tbl, cable 3 stitches to the right. (with yarn in front, slip 3 stitches purlwise; yarn in back, k3; insert left needle from the backside into the 4th-6th stitch, then slide off 3 stitches from the right-hand needle; then pick up these stitches, again with the right-hand needle) k3 to complete cable.
Note: By repeating rows 1 and 2 three times the cable is a balanced 6x6 cable= 6 stitches x 6 rows. However, you may cable any interval of your desire. 6s x 8 rows, 6s x 10 rows. The closer the repeat; the more defined the pattern will be.
