Where can I get this machine in Nigeria
@1RandomMiss Жыл бұрын
I bought a 1974 knitting machine from a thrift store and took it for my differently abled clients to try. They absolutely loved that they were able to create scarves and beanies. So I upgraded and bought 2 of these modern versions and their lives have been so positively impacted by these knitting machines. We now have a very anticipated program where the clients go shopping for their yarn. They all knitted gifts for their loved ones, but couldn’t stop there. So now they make scarves and beanies for the homeless which we collect and deliver twice a year to various organisations. This tool has provided a great deal of empowerment and joy to the clients. I can’t express enough gratitude at just what a brilliant little invention this is. ❤

@@cathismith2624 the initial casting on requires some dexterity. Once you have that first ring complete then it’s turning the handle away from you constantly. This may be a good strengthening exercise. They are on Temu for $15 or $40 in other places. I’d hate to say it’s great for everyone and let you down, but I do think it’s worth the risk. I have 4 circular knitters of different sizes. The sentro is the largest and it was my first one. It is fussy about yarn and tension. Sometimes it will take 3 tries to get it to work. A hat is normally between 120 and 125 rows for double thickness. That being said, it is a marvelous thing. I make hats and scarves and donate them to charity. It's so much fun.

Try continental knitting. You will catch on easier than with the english knitting. I hated dropping the yarn and picking it up again on every stitch ... in continental you never drop it until you get to the end of the row and hold in opposite hand of english. In my case I hold yarn in left hand as I am right handed.

I started off with a Bond knitting machine over 40 years ago and made a lot of clothes for my daughter. Eventually progressed to a Toyota knitting machine I bought second-hand with all the accessories and punch cards. Used it for many years and made lots of jerseys with it. I had the extension bed for it as my now late husband was a big man. It also had the ribber attachment. It became quite difficult to get spares for it and eventually I got rid of it. Once you start with basic machines, you'll eventually want a decent machine that does just about everything.

I feel the same way! Love playing with it. Haven’t decided what project I would try first. Koala knits is a very good teacher. 🎉🎉 good job! If you do get a drill to turn the crank, be very very careful. It is a plastic machine and will warp if it gets too hot. Plus it goes so fast you can’t keep control of your yarn or the stitches. At least that’s what some of the people have said who have tried it.

Knitting machines look like so much fun. I love knitting and when I worked night shifts I churned out one pair of socks per shift, but certain things are just boring (stockinette panels? Ugh no thank you) and having a machine seems so tempting 😂 Then again, joining panels is literally the worst thing about knitting for me and I avoid stuff that is worked in panels like the plague. I honestly think I'd rather just knit an entire sweater by hand in the round than having to join the panels after machine knitting. ....but I still want to try one.

That knitting machine is pretty cool! I can see why you'd be obsessed with it! At least that machine is getting some use out of it! That's super cool that you can make hats and skirts out of yarn and whatnot! Very well done! Good work!

Absolutely gorgeous! The skirt pattern reminds me of traditionally-made skirts with solid-color shorter panels on the side. It has an overall slimming effect on the body.

Awesome! If you want to have the seams look more invisible, look into matress stitch instead of crocheting for future projects

Hello, Cass, thank you for the wonderful video demonstrating the Sentro Knitting Machine. I, too, am a crochet person and have dabbled in regular knitting, and have wanted to try the Sentro for a long time but wasn't sure how it works. After seeing your wonderful demo and the beautiful clothes you have made with it, I can't wait to get one and try it! I love the skirt and the way you did the side panels which is how I will want to do mine. I also happen to love PINK and PURPLE so I really love the yarns and the colors in your room there. Best wishes to you on You Tube and with your knitting and crocheting.
