So nice to see your beautiful finished Jethro! Your first video on this design inspired me to try, and at this point, all i have to do are the sleeves. It has been SUCH a pleasure to craft this one and it is all thanks to you sharing about it here! And OK now i"m dreaming about a knitting machine.

Hi Felicia! You can do a transfer tool bind off on the Lk150 that works like the around the peg bind off. You transfer your first stitch to the next needle, then pull the needle you just emptied back out, now wrap your working yarn over both the empty needle and the one you transferred onto and knit the transferred needle. If you search “LK 150 series video 4” by Sally Butcher she shows it. I use it a lot since two of my metal bed machines don’t have pegs(Superba S48 and Brother KH-220). Hope this is helpful! Your Jethro is stunning.

Really interesting to learn how you used the knitting machine on this. I also just knit Jethro and love it. But all those ends!!
@sweetgeorgia2 ай бұрын
@@MsLisaMBrown yes! So many ends. I tried to crochet over the ends as I started new rounds, but I didn’t always… so now I have to weave them in 😆😜

The finished result is lovely and I hope you'll get lots of use out of that cardigan. (If you really want, there are clips that can be used for buttonless cardigans and shawls.) Ribbing on the knitting machine looks like almost as much work as hand kitting it.
@sweetgeorgia2 ай бұрын
@@resourcedragon for sure… it would have been great and so easy to use a metal knitting machine with a ribber, but unfortunately the LK150 doesn’t have a ribber attachment. But the manual ribbing is still faster than I could have knit it 😜

It almost seems more complicated to do on the knitting machine. Interesting video. Thanks, Felicia.

Thanks! Yes, machine knitting is like a whole other craft on its own, with a very different learning curve than hand knitting. Not better or worse, just different… while producing the same knitted fabric. I like both!

@@sweetgeorgia well the result is simple stunning. Your obviously have practiced a lot to be getting such lovely results. Do you have kits made up for The Jethro or Hey, Sailor by DRK? I dont I , at hope on to your website to pick Iup or bridge. Some white for the main color, sleeves etc. I'm met use duperwash some Ms. Jones Yarns, from stash. Now, I not certain. What yarns to use. Can I ask did your hand crochet your squares? What size hook did you use, please? I haven't crocheted in a very long time. I was going to use nonsuperwash. But might your path after seeing yours. lol🧶 😆 lol
@sweetgeorgia2 ай бұрын
@@TrudySchwartzBurrill for sure, I used three packages of our Party of Five Superwash DK mini-skeins to make the colour selection easier. And I used a 4 mm crochet hook to hand crochet all the squares 👍
@TrudySchwartzBurrill2 ай бұрын
I'm making this currently. Deciding on exactly which yarn has enough to do botton band etc. Did you use DK and worsted. So you used all sperwash wools, correct?
@sweetgeorgia2 ай бұрын
I used SweetGeorgia Superwash DK for the entire sweater including the button bands. 👍

I love the cardigan but the sleeves look little skimpy and thin in comparison to the thick texture and fabrication of the granny ssqaures. I think I would be inclined to knit the sleeves in a textured stitch, maybe a double seed stitch or a basket weaver stitch.
@sweetgeorgia2 ай бұрын
@@KarlSmith-p5r that’s the beauty of this pattern, it’s totally open and flexible for adaptation. It gives more of a guideline rather than exact instructions. Ready for customization! 👍
